Rockwell Automation's Technical Sales & Consulting Program is a world-class, multi-month training program consisting of a combination of sales, technical and professional training that take place in both classroom and on-the-job settings. Join a cohort of peers from all over the world and embark on a journey to become a trusted member of the sales team.
As a Business Development Representative, you will be the backbone of our sales process and will be responsible for strategically developing and qualifying new revenue opportunities. You'll work closely with Sales, Customer Success and Marketing teams to develop targeted strategies and messaging in order to drive opportunities for new business and expansion accounts. Success in the role will be largely determined by the ability to stay motivated, tenacity and rigor.
Major Responsibilities:
Understand and deliver the value proposition and present the value of our solution to meet individual customer needs.
Qualify prospective customers through active listening and asking probing questions to uncover their pains to see if our products/solutions would be a good fit.
Establish relationships with potential customers and positively represent the company and our product.
Hunt new business opportunities to fuel the sales pipeline.
Research, build and expand new accounts by building a contact portfolio through effective B2B account prospecting strategies.
Work in a metrics driven environment with achieving quotas of qualified opportunities, pipeline attribution, and closed business.
Evangelize solutions and present the value of a product to meet individual customer needs.
Assist Account Executives/Account Managers in developing their account plans through targeted research gathering.
Conduct high-level product conversations with senior executives in prospect accounts.
Ensure thorough and accurate and up to date customer interactions are captured in the CRM (Salesforce).
Participate and collaborate on projects to increase overall team efficiency.
Stay on top of industry trends and proactively share best practices within the team.
Coach, mentor and help to onboard new team members in partnership with the Manager, Business Development
Basic qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75

Preferred qualifications
Minimum 1 year in a business development role or extensive experience in a sales development role.
You have prospecting and CRM experience, preferably in a SaaS software or technology environment.
Familiarity with prospecting tools such as Zoominfo, LinkedIn Sales Nav, or Outreach
Comfortable cold calling and conducting high-level product conversations with senior executives in prospect accounts
Demonstrates a progressive knowledge of the Fiix platform (product/tools).
Has a solid understanding of the customer's industry and relevant personas and ability to identify appropriate solutions
You have a deep understanding of how to quickly develop relationships with potential customers and qualify the wants and needs of their organization.
You're a storyteller, who's comfortable presenting a company and a product to anyone, in any setting.
Your customer facing skills (written, verbal, and presentation) are impeccable.
You're a highly motivated, driven, self-starting individual who knows how to hit the ground running.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy developing the role as the business evolves.
You are a team player, you build your team members up by sharing best practices, testing out new prospecting ideas and work toward achieving the team goals.
