The Sales Engineer is responsible for generating a forecasted sales/gross margin and managing all aspects of sales and customer service for Capital equipment and service. The Sales Engineer develops and nurtures relationships with account decision-makers to influence purchasing decisions and to maximize PP&S's competitive position. The Sales Engineer is seen as a "solutions provider" by our industrial customers and is expected to professionally represent PP&S Industries and our vendor partners.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: *
* Maintain and grow the sales territory of Capital equipment and service, pumps, blowers, chemical feed, and complementary equipment including growth that comes from each manufacturer's product line. Territories available covers South Georgia and Northeastern Florida.
* Work closely with plant engineers in the industrial market to represent products and services.
* Build relationships with existing, new, and prospective manufacturers and principals in the industrial equipment business. Learn product lines of each manufacturer including the competitive advantages and how to take them to market successfully.
* Conducts product presentations and demonstrations to enhance the knowledge and product awareness of current and potential customers.
* Establishes rapport and maintains key relationships with manufacturers and keeps updated on new equipment changes and offerings.
* Engages in joint sales calls with manufacturers PP&S represents in the marketplace.
* Implement market coverage strategies, and leverage key contacts with Engineering, Purchasing Agents and Maintenance Managers.
* Drive product preference and product line initiatives in the market.
* Identify, track, and bid projects in assigned territory.
* Monitors and works long life-cycle projects for industrial processing equipment.
* Is the "eyes and ears" of PP&S in the marketplace and industry trends.
* Attend local, regional, and national trade conferences and sales seminars.
* Entertains customers and/or vendors after hours to strengthen relationships.
* Provides start-up service and support when required.
*KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES*

* Comfortable making cold calls and talking to people.
* Mechanical aptitude with an understanding and/or good working knowledge of electro-mechanical. rotating equipment, fabrication/manufacturing of equipment, and machine shop practices preferred.
* Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment general processes is a plus.
*REQUIREMENTS*
* Engineering or technical degree preferred.
* 3+ years of successful industrial sales experience; municipal/environmental market a plus.
* Proficient in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and CRM software.
* Valid drivers' license with a clean driving record.
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT*
* Walk, must be able to move about inside the office, shop, and customer/project sites.
* Must be able to work at a stationary desk that can require sitting or standing.
* Ability to operate and read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources.
* Able to hear sounds and designate differences between them, and talk via phone and electronic devices in the workplace.
* Capable of performing work in office and industrial settings at current/potential customer sites.
* Must be able to drive a car and travel via plane as needed.
