Full description of the position

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE:
 

Achieves business and revenue growth by direct sales, retention, and account portfolio management of inbound and outbound international mailing and shipping products and services to consolidators, freight forwarders, integrators, and other global and domestic commercial businesses within assigned geography.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Executes end-to-end sales process for inbound and outbound international services and products to achieve established revenue goals. Develops and implements strategies for new international prospects and analyzes impact of trends and environmental factors on assigned businesses, industry, and country.

2. Manages portfolio of international consolidator accounts. Develops and executes strategic plans based on USPS and customer business needs in assigned geography to meet established sales and revenue retention goals. Develops new, innovative, customized solutions and executes strategic and revenue-generating initiatives to enhance revenue growth by maximizing sales and ensuring account retention.

3. Negotiates and implements sales contract opportunities for inbound and outbound international products by using costing models. Travels internationally and domestically to negotiate contracts or pricing agreements within the limitations set by product managers and/or law. Collaborates closely with customer contracts and pricing function.

4. Monitors marketplace conditions and adjusts strategies to drive revenue in response to observed trends and through appropriate use of business alliances; works closely with business partners to ensure end users a reliable and cost-effective delivery network.

5. Develops effective working relationships with multiple, executive-level internal and external customers to address customer needs, ensure retention of existing revenue, and maximize new business sales revenue.

6. Leads participation in vendor shows and meetings for inbound and outbound international products and solutions to support achievement of international revenue.

7. Maintains, tracks, and reports on customer information, account management/sales activities, and projected revenue using a customer relationship management system to enhance USPS visibility to end customers needs and to promote accurate revenue and sales reporting.

8. Collaborates closely with field sales function to close international sales opportunities and maintain revenue. Leads support of other sales and global business teams, including trainings, joint sales calls, and strategy implementation.

9. Builds and maintains relationships with custom agents to identify opportunities to remove barriers to using Postal customs and generate additional revenue opportunities with international customers.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to communicate orally and in writing across cultures in countries/regions within assigned territory to build and maintain relationships, close sales, negotiate business terms, provide technical guidance and market products to various decision making audiences.

2. Ability to understand and utilize costing models necessary to obtain approved contract pricing.

3.Ability to understand postal and commercial custom clearance at a level sufficient to leverage with customers.

4. Willingness to travel extensively internationally as necessary to close sales.

5. SPECIAL CONDITION: Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.

6. Ability to research, analyze, and communicate competitive marketplace conditions and industry trends sufficient to identify sales opportunities.

7. Language Proficiency Requirement: For postings requiring a foreign language speaking proficiency, applicants must meet the minimum level of speaking proficiency for the target language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin) as measured by the Postal Service Exam 760.

8. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external major global customers (e.g., consolidators, freight forwarders, business customers, vendors) to build trust and to understand and address customer needs.

9. Ability to develop and execute sales and account management strategies and tactics to attract and retain new global and domestic prospects to achieve or exceed sales targets.
