Duties & Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the Senior Director of Development, COM-T and the Executive Director, AWCIM, work with COM-T and AWCIM administrative leaders, faculty and researchers to implement fund-raising priorities for AWCIM.

• Develop and sustain strong relationships with AWCIM leadership, faculty, board members, alumni, volunteers, patients, donors, and financial professionals.
  
• Focus on personal cultivation and solicitation of major-gift donor prospects at the $25,000 or greater level, which includes cash and estate gifts.
  
• Develop and actively manage a portfolio of 50-70 assigned prospects for major gifts.
  
• After an initial 3-6 month on-boarding period, execute an agreed upon metric of 100+ current or prospective/donor personal meetings and presentation of 20+ proposals per year, and a fundraising metric of at least $1M annually, after the initial on boarding period (with incremental increases after the first year).
  
• Collaborate with the Center Director and Senior Director of Development on the strategic planning of new projects and initiatives with specific fundraising goals for the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.
  
• Embrace the UADP's One Team" culture and philosophy.
  
• Attend UADP, college-wide and team meetings as requested.
  
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities suggested by supervisor and UADP leadership.
  
• Serve as a member of the College of Medicine – Tucson development team, working collaboratively with the alumni and stewardship positions, as well as various academic faculty and staff.
  
• Travel regularly, regionally and nationally, to meet with donors and prospects and/or attend special events.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to gain an in-depth understanding, knowledge of and alignment with AWCIM’s strategic vision, goals and objectives and a thorough familiarity with its mission, research and programs, and future clinical partners.
  
• Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with AWCIM’s leadership, faculty, staff, alumni, community members, volunteers, students, friends, and other constituents.
  
• Ability to understand and follow all Federal, UA and UADP policies and procedures, including UA and UADP scholarship and financial aid policies, as well as the University of Arizona Gift Policy and UA policies governing Sponsored Projects.
  
• Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with donors, UADP colleagues, and UA faculty, administration, and staff members.
  
• Ability to mediate and seek supervisory guidance when presented with competing priorities and goals.
  
• Ability to secure philanthropic support for the AWCIM that meets established goals.
  
• Ability to successfully cultivate new donors at the major gift level.
  
• Ability to understand and work with budgetary procedures and policies.
  
• Ability to work across multiple teams and diverse priorities.
  
• Ability to maintain donor confidentiality.
  
• Experience with online educational programs.
  
• Experience in developing and executing plans for large fundraising initiatives.
  
• Experience applying development and fundraising principles and procedures with emphasis on cultivating and closing major gifts.
  
• Knowledge and understanding of development and fund-raising principles and procedures.
  
• Demonstrated knowledge of development and fundraising principles and procedures.
  
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  
• Ability to align with AWCIM values and mission.
  
• Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills–balances data, experience, intuition, and judgment to make sound decisions aligned with AWCIM mission and culture.
  
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong ability to create personal relationships, and proven success in executing moves management actions and closing major ad six-figure philanthropic gifts.
  
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of staff, volunteers, and myriad stakeholders.
