The Event Sales Manager acts as the direct liaison between the hotel and client throughout the planning process and event execution. The position solicits business and qualifies leads to book social events as appropriate for The Breakers based on available dates, the existing volume of business, and projected event revenue while maintaining tight yield management on function space. The Event Sales Manager sells all Breakers businesses and partners with vendors to fulfill requirements. This position accurately and timely communicates all event specifics to the hotel operating departments through verbal and written communication, remains engaged in the event the day of, and provides global guidance to operating departments. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have superior communication skills (written and verbal) listening skills, and strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate is sales and solution-driven, resourceful, excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to handle multiple projects and work well under pressure. The ideal candidate is able to work effectively and collaboratively with peers to achieve the goals of the organization. The ideal candidate will display engagement by regularly researching and suggesting industry trends in food, presentations, design, venues, and vendors. The ideal candidate will support the spirit of continuous improvement, green meeting standards, community service, wellness initiatives, and superior guest services. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of all programs within the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and an intermediate level understanding of technology and social media platforms.
