Full description of the position

At GERSTEL, Inc., our core purpose is to sell sample preparation and introduction systems for chemical analysis, emphasizing innovative automation, to help our customers, employees, and partners have fulfilling and successful careers. We are looking for a self-motivated Technical Sales Representative for GERSTEL's analytical instruments to deliver results by implementing effective sales strategies that result in closing sales.


The territory for this position is DC, MD, DE, and PA east. The employee must live in MD, DE, or DC.


Important qualities required:

  • Technical expertise in sample preparation and introduction for chemical analysis using GC-MS and LC-MS systems
  • A degree in Chemistry with Analytical experience or a related discipline

Important qualities preferred:

  • Ability to present in a sales environment
  • Proven track record of sales target achievement
  • Builds relationships with decision-makers and technical buyers
  • Field-based sales with some travel required

Other qualities & experience necessary to be successful:

  • Passionate about helping customers and the sales process
  • Customer support experience preferred
  • Ability to accurately define problems and then solve them
  • Customer-focused, engaging, and consultative

Experience:

  • Relevant: 2-4 years (Preferred)

At the achievement of the annual target goal, total compensation w/o benefits could reach $110 - $115k in the first year the plan. This is an uncapped commissioned sales position.
