POSITION FUNCTION: The Service Liaison will assist the Service Manager in coordinating an efficient Service Department with professionalism and a high degree of customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- First point of contact for service customers
- Ensure communication between Parts and Service departments for proper parts ordering and delivery
- Input labor and notes from work-orders daily, ensuring accuracy of technician’s reporting
- Gather accurate information from customer, including names, numbers, and all information needed to establish a work order
- Open work orders
- Preview work orders, ensuring parts and items are on the ticket
- Communicate the cost and time needed to do the repair, taking into account both Vermeer Great Plains’ and the customer’s schedule
- Conduct follow up customer calls for verification of customer satisfaction
- Input call notes into business system for call tracking
- Input work performed and track work orders through computer system
- Ensure timely completion of work orders and other paperwork
- Act as the liaison between the customers and service department
- General filing
- Assist with warranty claims
- Follows all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adheres to all policies and procedures as specified in Employee Handbook
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:
- Must be committed to and take a pro-active approach to our Company Mission, Vision and Values
- Strong PC proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office Suite; CDK a plus
- High degree of customer service to both internal and external customers
- Ability to perform equipment and machinery repairs at Service Manager’s discretion
- Strong working knowledge of labor and parts used in the maintenance and repair of equipment
- Strong ability to adapt to the people and environment around them - customers, suppliers, co-workers, and manufacturer's employees
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner
- Communicates professionally, respectfully, and honestly always
- Ability to withstand moderate to high noise level in working environment regularly
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear 100% of the time
- Ability to be exposed to extreme weather elements, including wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat regularly
- Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma, GED and/or vocational training/certification required; College degree preferred
- 1-3+ years’ heavy/industrial equipment industry experience and/or general service technician experience required
- 1+ years of Vermeer Technician and/or Vermeer equipment experience strongly recommended
- Background check, pre-employment drug testing and clean driving record required
