Saratoga Medical currently has an opening for a Full-Time Business Development Manager (Federal, State & Local Government)
Position Summary:
Saratoga Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Executive for our Federal, State and Local Government Division. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the management and business development of the pipeline supporting the CEO/VP of company.
The candidate should be well versed in the Shipley Business Development Lifecycle Model and have a track record of winning Full and Open, competitive opportunities within Federal Civilian Agencies.
The opportunities should fall within the specialties of Medical Staffing, Healthcare Management and Consulting, Clinical and Scientific, IT, and Facilities Maintenance. The candidate should have experience with business development supporting the Defense Health Agency, Department of Homeland Security, Department of State, National Institutes of Health or Centers for Disease Control.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key stakeholder in the development and execution of the Saratoga Medical Government Solutions annual operating plan and strategic growth initiatives. They will develop and maintain market plans for the Federal Civil Agencies within the identified growth areas.
- The individual will be responsible the identification of new business opportunities within the targeted customer organizations through research, networking, and strategic teaming.
- The ideal candidate will have experience winning contract awards within the FedCiv Healthcare and/or IT market that are Full and Open opportunities i.e. not Small Business Set-Asides.
- Identify, qualify, and support capture of new business within the targeted organizations utilizing the company business acquisition process (based on the Shipley model). This includes developing gate reviews, maintaining the accuracy of the Salesforce tool, and briefing leadership
- Build a pipeline of addressable opportunities, prime and sub, covering a 5-year period, with a goal of $200M in opportunities per year.
- Develop and brief a focused and actionable account plan to business leadership; identify resources to achieve plan. Conduct research utilizing commercial tools as well as personal knowledge of customer opportunities.
- Develop and present detailed opportunity reviews (gate reviews) with detail adequate to facilitate sound pursuit decisions.
- Work closely with other business development managers, program management, human resources and other core functional leaders across the segment and corporate organizational structure.
- Accurate and timely tracking of business opportunities and customer contacts via customer relationship management (CRM) software (Currently Salesforce).
- Possess strong communication, presentation, negotiation, collaboration and cross functional leadership skills.
- In depth knowledge of Federal Government FAR requirements and acquisition processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10 years of business development experience.
- Deep understanding of targeted agencies including strategic imperatives and mission priorities.
- Extensive contacts and relationships with the targeted agencies and industry partners.
- Experience working with Federal Government prime contractors and ability to negotiate teaming.
- Ability to translate offerings into solutions to meet the customer mission and requirements.
- Excellent communication skills- both written and oral.
- Experience developing and winning new business opportunities within the targeted agencies and organizations or recent government experience within the target organizations.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to see customers and to visit the corporate offices (dependent on location
