Job Summary:

The Commercial Insurance Account Manager performs the necessary functions associated with

servicing clients at the highest level possible for either an Account Executive or House-driven book

of business. Specific service and marketing responsibilities are required in this position. Meets

service and sales delivery standards and performs essential functions to the quality and services

standards set by the agency.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze client needs, coverage forms and quotations
• Completes the renewal applications; submits applications to incumbent market or the

Marketing team; follows up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies

• Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals
• Orders renewals in accordance with agency procedures
• Orders and issues binders, certificates, policies, endorsements and other related items;

verifies their accuracy; forwards them to client with appropriate correspondence

• Reviews audits of policies; verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections
• Reviews accounts for rounding opportunities
• Verifies policy and policy change information, facilitating corrections when necessary
• Determines reasons for requests for cancellations; acts to save accounts
• Identifies exposure to loss and recommends appropriate coverages
• Follows all company and divisional SOP’s regarding the Agency Operating System
• Handles Client emergencies promptly and appropriately
• Any other duties as requested by management
• May work as a team member with an Account Executive to service, retain & round a book of

business.

• May provide support to the Account Executive in analyzing client needs, coverage forms and

quotations

• May occasionally accompany the Account Executive on client meetings when requested

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Outlook and EPIC
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Organized and timely

Education and Experience:

• Active North Carolina Property & Casualty license
• 1+ years of experience as a licensed Commercial Insurance professional
• Must have or be willing to obtain designations as determined by your director
