The Active Systems division adheres to a 9/80 work schedule, with every other Friday off. In a two-week period, employees will work 9 hours per day, Monday through Thursday, the first week Friday is an 8-hour workday, while the second week Friday is off.

The Sales Engineer provides technical guidance and support to the Global Sales Team. By providing training and troubleshooting of Galvion products, the Sales Engineer is the technical point of contact during the sales cycle. With direct contact with customers and strong technical acumen, the Sales Engineer may also develop and modify products to meet customers' technical requirements and needs. The Sales Engineer is knowledgeable in the power and data market as well as how Galvion products are placed within the market. The Sales Engineer represents Galvion Active Systems during the sales cycle and will have excellent verbal and communication skills and ability to acquire new customers by winning them over from competitors.

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

People:

  • Works as the technical point of contact in conjunction with the Global sales team.
  • Works within the Engineering team to maintain technical knowledge of Galvion Active Systems' product portfolio, roadmap and capabilities.
  • Supports incoming system configuration requests through the Inside Sales team.
  • Work closely with Business Development, Sales, Project Management, Marketing, and Engineering teams to define the product portfolio.

Process:

  • Ability to plan, organize, execute and conduct virtual and onsite training and troubleshooting, as required, for Galvion products.
  • Ability to simplify complex scientific and technological products to military, law enforcement and complementary businesses.
  • Provide product specific training and troubleshooting
  • Determine product improvements by analyzing cost-benefit of components and performance changes based upon customer and market input
  • Gains customer acceptance by explaining and demonstrating operational improvements.
  • Able to participate in, observe, and understand military training exercises and environments.
  • Provides post-customer engagement engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information, engineering and application trends.
  • Contributes to sales effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing efforts.
  • Participates in customer after action reviews to ensure user feedback is understood and be prepared to discuss solutions as they are proposed.
  • Provide real time customer support for existing and new products to sales team, customers, prospective customers, and at other events such as trade shows.
  • Shape capabilities and strategy on future products within Active Systems
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to existing and prospective customers
  • Talk with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements
  • Create content for sales, marketing, training, customers as needed. This includes, product guides, sales material, training, demand creation and other customer facing material.
  • Other duties as assigned

Performance:

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Uses technical skills to explain the benefits of Galvion products or services to potential customers and to demonstrate how our products compare to competitors.
  • Technically proficient with wearable battery/power requirements and can speak to volts, amps and watts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 3 to 5 years or related experience.
  • Confident, proactive, self-motivated with ability to make decisions and take responsibility for them.
  • Electrical or systems engineering background is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Effective communicator both verbal and written skills.
  • Problem solver: Ability to listen to the customer's desires and concerns, and then recommend solutions, possibly including customizing a product.
  • Self-confident with ability to persuade audience when making presentations.
  • Ability to explain technologically sophisticated products to explain their advantages and answer questions.
  • Able to take participate, observe, and understand military training exercises and environments.
  • Have the ability to plan, organize, execute and conduct post activity analysis.
  • Experience with or knowledge of military tactical radios is desirable (HF,UHF and SHF etc.)
  • Former Military experience is desirable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • Travel time estimated at 40% - including customer visits, military bases, controlled training environments, operational training environments and Galvion facilities
  • Office base environment
