Business Development Representative in Bowling Green, OH
We are looking for a business development representative to join our team. Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns and meeting sales quotas. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with customers, from first contact until you close the deal. You will also ensure proper after-sales service.
- Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
- Contact potential clients through cold calls and emails
- Proactively find and engage on potential RFQ, bid, and contract opportunities.
- Understanding customers' needs and identifying sales opportunities.
- Explaining and demonstrating features of products and services.
- Upselling products and services.
- Build long-term trusting relationships with clients
- Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and Account Executives
- Report to the Business Development Manager on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results
- Stays current with internal systems, processes, products, promotions, and market trends
- Staying informed about competing products and services.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School and/or Associates Degree
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, In-side Sales Account Executive, or similar role
- Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Understanding of sales and marketing concepts.
- Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
- Familiarity with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Excellent phone and cold calling skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong listening and sales skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging presentations
- Understanding of sales performance metrics
- Track record of achieving sales quotas
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
- Extended times using a computer
- Ability to work full time
- In-person work setting at HQ in Bowling Green OH
