Stone Distributing (SDC) was founded in the spirit of craft camaraderie. When no distributor in the late 90s would accept Stone’s hop-forward beers, the brewery self-distributed and brought along other specialty and craft brands as well. It is now among the largest independent distributors of craft-only beverages in the country. SDC became a standalone distributor, independent of Stone Brewing in 2022. Summary
The Sales Relief Representative will be responsible for completing various on and off premise routes each week to cover for Stone Distributing Sales Representatives. The role will plan, organize, and control sales functions from conceptual stages through distribution cycles. They will also work to secure shelf, display, and tap handle placements to optimize sales and marketing objectives while providing optimal customer service to the covered accounts. The Sales Relief Representative will promote and advocate for both Stone Brewing and Stone Distributing Company supplier brands by building relationships and trust with both our supplier partners and customers.
Only applicants who reside or would be willing to relocate to Ventura County, CA area will be considered. No relocation assistance will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide coverage for Stone Distributing Sales Representatives as needed by managing on and off premise routes within a variety of territories each week
- Promote and sell Stone and distributed portfolio brands into the market within a defined geographic area in line with the brands’ market strategies
- Ensure that existing accounts have the appropriate amount of beer for their ordering period and place orders for all active accounts based on weekly/monthly beer volume needs and delivery schedules
- Maximize the point-of-sale (POS) exposure in each account and ensure proper POS is available and maintained at accounts
- Organize an efficient daily route, utilizing optimal daily, weekly, and monthly route and planning to effectively visit
- Effectively communicate stock information, manage beer sell-through and code dates, and ensure proper beer rotation on shelves and displays within accounts
- Partner with Area Sales Manager and Sales Representative team to brainstorm and build beer displays, cooler resets, and maintain shelf standards
- Learn and understand basics of draft system, key components, and basic troubleshooting in order to repair draft systems as needed at accounts; supports operation of jockey box system
- Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, shows, and events, working tap takeovers, beer festivals, and sporting events as needed
- Directly support delivery of product to retail locations at times
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required- Computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred
- Highly proficient in verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented with a strong sense of urgency and ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time
- Self-starter and the ability to work independently
- Flexible work from home/hybrid arrangement with access to work from an office space as needed
- Must be flexible to work on weekends and holidays when needed

- Pay Range: $20.00/hr.
