Job Description
At Holiday Inn Express Worcester Downtown, we are in search of an experienced Hotel Sales Manager to lead the sales and marketing effort for the hotel, including securing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and assist in executing sales and marketing strategies to maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining customer satisfaction. This highly Motivated Sales Manager's primary focus will be the corporate transient and group market.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Sells hotel guestrooms groups and conference space through direct client contact to maximize total rooms revenues and profits.
- Establishes client base of organizations, associations, social, and corporate businesses through direct outside and inside sales effort for the purpose of securing business for the hotel to ensure that predetermined sales expectations are met or exceeded.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce group business.
- Negotiates guest room rates, meeting room rental, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Confirms in writing to the client all requirements via sales contract.
- Conducts tours of the hotel facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures
- Logs all sales efforts efficiently and is highly organized.
- Generates and distributes weekly reporting of sales efforts, and participates in weekly revenue strategy meetings
- Occasionally assists General Manager with operational assignments within hotel.
Job Requirements:
- Major Brands Experience preferred.
- 2+ years hotel sales experience within the corporate/ group market.
- Knowledge with revenue budgets.
- Corporate sales experience is preferred.
- Experience with Boston / Worcester market is preferred.
- Strong solicitation/prospecting/negotiation skills.
- Strong knowledge of how to use Microsoft Office 2013
- Opera / Holidex Plus / Sales Pro experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and superior guest service skills.
- Actively participate in industry related organizations.
- Must have flexible work schedule and be able to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Must have valid US Drivers license and adequate transportation
- Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and possess excellent communication skills.
- Maintain a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
