Hotel Sales & Meeting Manager

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Burlington is currently seeking a Hotel Sales & Meeting Manager. Our hotel has the largest conference space in the state of Vermont! With over 30,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, we have everything a planner needs to create a great meeting, conference or wedding.

We just completed a $16 million dollar renovation which included our beautiful new conference center, guest room upgrades and the exterior of the hotel.

Hotel Sales & Meeting Manager

This unique position is responsible for supporting the sales, catering and events team to ensure we are exceeding client’s expectations. The role will be responsible for taking short-term SMERF & catering inquiries, detailing the events and turning over to Banquet team. Communicating with all appropriate departments to execute flawless events.

Job Requirements

· Communicate with and maintain professional relationships with clients via telephone, email, and in person.

· Support Director of Sales and Director of Catering with taking phone inquiries mostly short term in nature (SMERF-Social, Military, Education, Religious & Fraternal)

· Create detailed event orders to meet specifications of client, manage room blocks, food and beverage and special concessions

· Communicate and problem solve effectively with all stakeholders to ensure client's expectations are exceeded

· Enforce contractual agreements to client pertaining to meeting space, food and beverage, and special concessions

· Responsible for BEO’s and all changes necessary based on client needs

· Ensure that all guest checks, payments, master folios and advanced deposits are submitted to accounting; ensures that any other information, which is necessary and/or helpful for successful catering or group business is submitted to appropriate departments

· Collaborate with culinary operations to assist in development, design, and implementation of custom menus

· Maintain proper documentation of events, changes and special requests with updated Banquet Event Orders, group resumes and rooming lists. Provide accurate and concise information to all departments

· Actively participate in BEO and group resume meetings

· Perform all responsibilities in a timely and efficient fashion, following established policy and always projecting a favorable image of the hotel

· Comply with hotel standards for sales while working as part of a high functioning team

· Excellent product knowledge of hotel facilities, capacities, and room dimensions as well as similar knowledge of competitive hotels

· Function as the on-site contact to client and address challenges or concerns immediately

· Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel to include restaurant, and outlets for upselling

Additional Requirements

· Experience with Delphi, and ONQ a plus

· Willing to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all required task

· Work with integrity, confidentiality, and discretion

· Must have good oral, written and computer skills

· Always conduct self in a most professional manner to reflect the hotel standards

· Highly organized and can plan multiple activities and meet deadlines while always maintaining a positive and professional demeanor

· Experience with event planning, food and beverage and social catering preferred
