Senior Account Executive

Role and Responsibilities
International Sales Campaigns
  • Partner with Milan-based Showroom Team on scheduling all Milan-bound JIL SANDER USA Clients for appointments in Milan Showroom
  • Review clients’ budgets prior to clients’ arrivals in the Showroom with the Wholesale Director, ensure that these budgets have been discussed during the appointment to ensure the client is aware of the financial expectations for their orders
  • Follow-up with clients after their appointments on order questions/status; reviewing order content with Wholesale Director and forwarding recommendations to clients; collect all orders within the campaign closure and partner with CS on order entry, ensure that all corrections/modifications are communicated back to client so final PO’s can be saved in JIL SANDER’s system
  • Train and work alongside/support freelance sellers during all client appointments
  • Every end-of-day during market, sit with Wholesale Director and recap the day’s appointments
  • Ensure all .com businesses’ shoots have been scheduled for evenings, preferably when JIL SANDER USA Staff is still in Milan and on hand to assist/support the shoots in their efficiency
  • Ensure all .com appointments create actual JIL SANDER approved outfits during their appointments; suggest styling tips and share RTW selections with Shoe & Handbag teams, and vice-versa; encourage as much diversification of each .com assortment from other .com clients
  • Travel to Milan with Wholesale Director 4-5 times annually for 7-10 days each trip for training on new collections as well as larger client appointments happening only in Milan
  • Partner with Wholesale Director in properly briefing Showroom Assistants and Freelancers each morning on their daily clients: what to push/what the client historically does well with, etc.
  • Work with Customer Service in compiling shipping analysis, and AE to provide by style selling information prior to Wholesale Director’s business meetings with department stores
  • Work alongside Wholesale Director in putting together tailor-made “electronic packages” with campaign best-sellers to clients who are unable to attend in-person markets

Develop and Prepare Market Line-Up
  • Identify and push “Best Sellers” to be used during department store and specialty store appointments
  • Analyze top-performing styles by sell-thru in each classification by delivery and present similar styles during selling campaign
  • Print out and provide order from previous season for reference during appointments with buyers
  • Challenge buyers to see all fabrics and silhouettes offered in the collection to ensure they have a well-balanced and JIL SANDER image-driven assortment in their buys

Sell-Thru Analysis
  • Collect/receive weekly by-style and by-door selling reports
  • Analyze selling reports and either send congratulations on jobs well-done and/or reach out to buyers
to identify potential solutions/tips to problematic selling results
  • Assist in inputting/generating the master selling file on a weekly basis; the weekly recording allows
“last year, this week we performed at **% level for each retailer”
  • Partner with Customer Service Associate to set-up this template at the start of each season with the
exact order figures for each client to ensure correct selling numbers
  • Develop hybrid selling tools such as “Buy Books” for major retailers to clearly illustrate visual seasonal
selling performance and easily identify sales trends
Develop Seasonal Collection Briefings and Press Kits
  • Collect product knowledge and selling materials from Milan to pass along to JIL SANDER USA retailers
  • These will be distributed to all buying teams and also be utilized during morning meetings at stores.
The packet should include information about the history of Jil Sander, specific seasonal inspirations /
highlights, identification of silhouettes, illustration and names of fabrics, and recent press editorial
  • Partner with Customer Service Associate to update master list of clients / contacts

Visit Clients Seasonally
  • Responsible for reaching out to buyers and individual stores to set-up meetings each season to
support sales and educate staff on product featured and visual merchandising guidelines
  • Create personal itinerary with the help / guidance of Wholesale Director who controls travel budget
  • Prior to traveling, prepare Store Visit Form for each client who will be visited, bring a PK packet if
these have been received from Milan already
  • Set-up breakfast for associates and models for the clinics, with the approval of Wholesale Director
  • At the conclusion of each trip, share feedback and filled-in Store Visit Forms with Wholesale Director
  • Communicate all positive or negative observations and feedback to buying offices as well
  • Follow-up with store managers, associates, etc. with thank you emails, provide answers to questions if
applicable and materials when requested
Managing Daily Correspondence
  • Obtain Shipping Report from Customer Service and provide clients’ updates; follow all buyer’s
inquiries for re-orders/stock requests and special orders to completion
  • Understand and report on inventory levels with major partners to understand opportunity and/or
associated risk
  • Partner with Customer Service to help respond to any client issues (damaged merchandise, clothing
label requests, etc.) promptly and smoothly

Sample Coordination & Event Production
  • Manage sample loans for Editorial Opportunities; this frequently requires multiple shipments to and
from Milan headquarters
  • Major Retail Activations or any special events/projects require planning and support from Milanmanage
the conveyance that clients receive full looks so as to maintain the integrity of the brand; this
also requires the packing-up, sending and retrieving of samples and sending back to Milan on time
  • Partner with JIL SANDER HQ Visual Team in executing any associated local visual needs within retail
partners, ensuring the highest level of execution to satisfy needs on either side

Sourcing New Clients
  • Help field interested potential client requests to carry JIL SANDER merchandise; when traveling, please
do not only visit Current Retail Partners, but also target potential new distributors
  • Stay up-to-date with WWD or BOF Announcements about new stores, new websites that JIL SANDER
might be able to consider for partnership
  • Make sure to stay in touch with former clients of JIL SANDER, as clients do sometimes decide to return
after they have departed
  • Collect all necessary information for any new clients, and partner with Customer Service to ensure
seamless set up in JIL SANDER systems during market

Qualifications and Education Requirements
4-year degree and/or equivalent combination of work and experience


Preferred Skills:
  • 5+ years similar experience in a Sales Support role within a wholesale environment
  • Luxury Retail experience a plus
  • Requires advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Experience reading selling reports & ability analyze numbers, sales reports, etc.
  • Ability to manage daily activities and busy calendar of an Executive
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Must be able to keep matters confidential

Salary Range: $90,000 to $100,000
