Excellent employment opportunity with Large Family owned Landscape Design Build Company. Hazeltine Nurseries Inc has been in business for 38 years and is seeking an experienced Landscape Designer to join the “Hazel Team”.

The Ideal Candidate will have Landscape Design/Sales experience or be a Landscape Architect and must have knowledge of Florida plant material and designs.

Summary: Responsible for the planning, design and development of land areas for projects such as parks and other recreational facilities, airports, highways, and parkways, hospitals, schools, land subdivisions, and commercial, industrial, governmental and residential sites by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

• Develops plans for landscape, hardscape, trellis, walls, gazebo, fencing, driveways, parks and other related outdoor facilities for construction on residential, commercial or government property.
• Confers with clients to acquire knowledge of client’s needs, desires and information with designs developed.
• Confers and coordinates with clients, other divisions, and architects on overall landscape architectural program and specific jobs.
• Compiles and analyzes data on such site conditions as geographic location; soil, vegetation, and rock features; drainage; and location of structures for preparation of environmental impact report and development of landscaping plans.
• Prepares site plans, working drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for land development, showing ground contours, vegetation, locations of structures, and such facilities as roads, walks, parking areas, fences, walls, and utilities, coordinating arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures.
• Inspects construction work in progress to ensure compliance with landscape specifications, to approve quality of materials and work, and to advise client and construction personnel on landscape features.
• Understand and incorporates governmental and other land use constraints, such as building codes, when developing plans for landscape construction.
• Manages and monitors customers for satisfaction

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and 10 years of architecture and landscape design. Also must have knowledge of Florida Plant life.
