The Sales Manager will assist the Store Manager in overseeing sales operations to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of programs and that the financial and operational objectives are met.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Acquisition:
1. Responsible for proactively networking/recruiting for qualified candidates to ensure proper backfill for all positions. Seek internal/external candidates with a proven ability to develop and maintain sincere, authentic relationships.
2. Assist the Store Manager when selecting, training, and coaching Associates/Supervisors and ensures that policies and procedures are adhered to.
3. Assesses the effectiveness of the staff by providing the appropriate level of performance feedback.
4. Hires to IT’SUGAR’S Core Values: Optimism, Sense of Humor, Passion, Versatility, Ownership
Coaching:
1. Lead, coach and motivate through positive, enthusiastic brand representation and present solutions for ongoing challenges.
2. Leads by managing through change and adversity.
3. Holds self and staff accountable for achievement of goals and metrics.
4. Holds self and staff accountable to our Core Values and coaches to the behaviors associated with them.
Selling Skills:
1. Ensures retail Indicators, Supporting KPIs and Financial Goals are achieved. (Sales, Conversion %, UPT, DPT, AUR etc.).
2. Establishes a Collaborative Selling Culture in the Store, ensures Associates/Supervisors are trained in all IT’SUGAR selling training programs.
3. Drives brand loyalty by adopting an experiential selling environment, by setting the theater in a fun and engaging way.
4. Demonstrates selling skills through explaining benefits, features, prices, quality, value and other information, builds the business through
providing the ultimate consumer experience.
Customer Relations:
1. Shares information and communicates clearly too all levels internal and external.
2. Maintains the spirit of ownership by demonstrating problem solving skills to overcome obstacles and challenges.
3. Must be able to articulately convey the brand language.
Operations:
- Ensures all operational standards are maintained.
2. Maintains store cash handling records, reports and opening and closing procedures.
4. Capture information on retail customers to enhance sales, maintain store’s client file.
5. Plan, coordinate and set-up for special events and promotions.
6. Understands all Loss Prevention (LP) policies and procedures and communicates LP issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the sales floor, ensures that objectives are met - within company mission, and procedures/guidelines.
- Makes recommendations in staffing decision including employment, discipline, training, assignment and termination for assigned function.
- Creates a productive work environment through consistent coaching and training of sales associates.
- Ensures that all practices meet applicable legal requirements, policies and procedures.
- Maintains the spirit of ownership by demonstrating problem solving skills to overcome obstacles and challenges.
- Evaluates sales / customer service on an ongoing basis and makes recommendations/initiates action to enhance productivity, efficiency, effectiveness and profitability.
- Acts as Manger on Duty, when needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Years of Experience: 3 -5 years of Professional Level of retail
- Must have prior sales and store management experience in a retail environment
- Willing to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to use PC and operate office equipment
- Standing: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Lifting: The employee is frequently required to walk and lift product in order to properly merchandise it. The employee must frequently, and independently, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee needs to be able to lift up to 50lbs (may be assisted with this task).
