Full description of the position

Vector Controls and Automation Group, manufacturer's representative partner company of Endress+Hauser Inc., is looking for an ambitious Business Development / Inside Sales Engineer candidate to support their growing sales team in Plano and Pearland, TX and in Tulsa, OK. Tasks include application engineering, customer service, and sales. This position also includes identifying, qualifying, and developing new customer relationships. Applicants must have strong skills in communication, technical problem-solving, and customer service. Inside Sales Engineers receive extensive training in sales and process automation equipment, and learn about a wide range of customer processes. This position will be working remotely out of the candidate's home office.

Role + Responsibilities

  • Provide technical, application and product support, including pricing and delivery information to representative’s salespeople and customers.
  • Review incoming orders for proper product selection and application.
  • Support Representative Outside Sales with lead qualification/follow-up, Bid specifications and Project bid specifications.
  • Answer representative sales personnel’s questions about doing business with Endress+Hauser (tools and processes).
  • Field visits to sales representative offices and customer sites for relationship development, training, and driving sales.
  • Owns and directly manages certain sales initiates to drive business directly with customers.

Qualification + Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Business or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven outside sales experience OR a combination of education and experience
  • Have a good understanding of general process operations (recognize limitations of technologies, recognize competitive limitations, and recognize potential problems at a customer’s plant)
  • Strong organization, presentation, apptitude, product knowledge, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication, relationship building, and organization.
  • Ability to achieve technical proficiency in flow, level, pressure, and analytical field instrumentation sales
  • Actively seeks information to understand customer circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs
  • Acts independently and on own initiative
  • Uses understanding of customer needs to initiate solutions
  • Implement customer feedback to improve overall experience and prevent issues from occurring
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents and bid specifications
  • Ability to effectively present information in a clear and organized manner, and respond professionally and appropriately to questions of managers, reps, and customers
