Sales Engineer – Crane & Rigging

Walker Crane & Rigging Corp. was founded in 1883 and is one of the premier Crane, Rigging and Transportation companies in New England. We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to join our team. We are a medium-sized Crane, Rigging and Trucking company that specializes in transporting and rigging oversized industrial equipment throughout all 48 states. We have a large fleet of cranes, sleepers, day cabs, flatbeds, forklifts and over 60 trailers of all types.

We are in Plainville, CT and have a 130,000 sqft warehouse with two overhead cranes, experienced warehouse riggers, logistics support, updated fleet, new trucks, and a huge workload.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Crane & Rigging Sales Engineer to join the Walker team! This ideal candidate must be able to perform well under pressure and understand the fluctuating needs of a thriving business, in addition to managing day-to-day responsibilities.

Responsibilities Include:

• Promote and participate in leading safety as a company value.
• Develop sales strategies to penetrate and develop key accounts.
• Conduct discovery meetings with new customers to uncover needs of service.
• Determine crane & rigging solutions.
• Project Management for all jobs.
• Participate in pre-job meetings, job walks and site surveys.
• Layout and select equipment, prepare basic lift and rigging plans with load-out lists.
• Record activities, contacts, and all sales transactions.
• Estimate and write standard pricing proposals.
• Assist in identification of key contacts and opportunities for account growth.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of crane and rigging sales experience.
• Proven track record of business development results including prospecting new business and closing profitable sales.
• Skilled in identifying, approaching, presenting, and building relationships with decision makers within a complex sales environment. Must be comfortable with all levels from field craft to executives.
• Mechanically inclined and has a proven track record of success in rigging, lifting, industrial and mechanical equipment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be proficient in 3D Lift planner software.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
