Senior Account Manager (Medical Communications)

Our medical communications client is actively seeking to add a Senior Account Manager to the client services team. This is a new full time permanent opportunity, excellent company with a track for career upward mobility & growth. Client facing, client/account management experience within a publications/publication planning agency is required. The senior account manager will help provide strategic direction of the account.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day activities in assigned accounts.
- Drive the development and organic growth of assigned projects and accounts.
- Meet with and/or speak with assigned clients and adding value added suggestions to client needs, negotiate & close proposals, either alone or with the support of lead account personnel for more complex initiatives.
- Experience and understanding of science in order to develop content outlines so writers/content developers understand the scope and flow of what is being sought by the client.
- Create and foster a working relationship with assigned clients to develop an understanding of the client’s market, product profile, therapeutic area, competitors and trends so this can be applied when interacting with clients and developing business proposals.
- Ensure delivery of recommendations made from client meetings by working with internal departments.
- Work in conjunction with other team members to meet or exceed company revenue and profitability expectations in your assigned accounts.
- Interact and work with all relevant team members to providing information that may assist in day-to-day work.
- Work with the project team to drive day-to-day project management of your assigned projects within an account and be the primary point of contact for the client.
- Execute and follow through on assigned actions from client and executive account member recommendations.
Qualifying for this position requires the following:
- Approximately seven (7) or more years’ experience within a publications/publication planning medical communications agency
- This is NOT a sales role or operations role, rather Client Services/Account Management
- Therapeutics experience open
- BA/BS College Degree
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
- A strong background in excellent client management
- Management of junior staff experience is a plus not required
- Understanding of financial reporting of assigned projects
- Excellent relationship building, attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Project)
