Description
The Senior Account Executive is a valuable member of the LightWerks team. As a field sales representative, the SAE is tasked with meeting quota objectives, performing all account Management, and representing the Company with decision makers in customer accounts, and in the territory’s business community. As an Account Executive, the SAE will develop and implement LightWerks sales process and help guide marketing plans for their respective territories/market segments. And as a Senior member of the Sales Team, the SAE will be expected to be an exemplary member of the team by generating substantial sales, at relatively high margins, modeling exceptional sales skills, and coaching junior members of the sales team on how to achieve similar results. To many of our customers, the Account Executive is LightWerks and hence this Associate’s performance and business interactions will directly affect the success and reputation of the Company.

Territory*: The Sales Territory will consist of named customers, vertical markets, and selected geographies throughout LightWerks’ service areas, with an initial emphasis on customers in and around Portland and eventually in California.
Requirements
The Senior Account Executive’s responsibilities will include:
- Meeting and/or exceeding quota on a consistent basis,
- Proactively generating leads and business in the assigned territory to develop adequate pipelines to meet sales objectives,
- Employing a combination of self-initiated business development activities along with utilizing company provided leads to meet expected pipeline metrics,
- Promptly responding to leads generated by LightWerks’ and vendor marketing efforts,
- Qualifying opportunities thoroughly before seeking design and engineering assistance,
- Recommending the appropriate product and service solution to customers based on their expressed needs,
- Maintaining a balance of box, system, and service sales, at appropriate margins, in a way that will maximize gross profits and meet gross margin expectations on their overall sales,
- Developing and maintaining a base-level expertise in the design and project management of integrated system projects,
- Developing and maintaining a strong expertise in the sale of managed services and other recurring-revenue products and services,
- Designing simple systems to meet customers’ needs and working with LightWerks Engineers on more sophisticated projects,
- Providing excellent after-sale customer service whenever called upon,
- Maintaining an exceptional level of knowledge and competency in regard to products, LightWerks Programs, competitors, and general issues as they relate to the business environment in your assigned territories,
- Maintaining a focus on larger sales and higher margin opportunities rather than trying to be all things to all people and hence diluting the impact of your overall efforts,
- Paying sufficient attention to the DETAILS of your work to make sure that orders you secure are properly “shaped” to be profitably executed by the Operations and Finance and Administration departments of the Company,
- Consistently maintaining a positive attitude and performing as a team player on a day-to-day basis, and
- Making recommendations for the continued improvement and top performance of our business.

- Time “In the Office: This will generally be a position that works remotely, with no in-office days expected each week.
- Out-of-Town Travel: This job requires moderate travel (up to 25% of the time, in periods up to a week at a time) comprised of visit to customer locations, occasional visits to remote job sites, LightWerks offices, hands-on vendor trainings, and some optional attendance at industry or other professional gatherings.
Requirements: Job requirements to be able to perform this job:
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or comparable training and/or experience,
- Minimum five years of relevant sales experience,
- Must conduct all interactions with external and internal customers with complete integrity and exemplary business ethics,
- A strong work ethic, positive outlook, and ability to focus and complete assigned tasks,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Excellent organizational and time management skills,
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, a self-starter, and very personable,
- Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers,
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously,
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse groups,
- Must be able to type at an average skill level (40+ words per minute),
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook,
- Ability to demonstrate planning and implementation skills which allow for the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
- Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations,
- Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation, and
- Must possess a valid and current driver's license.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to see all colors in the visual spectrum (i.e., not suffering from “color blindness”),
- Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers,
- Some light lifting of objects is required,
- Reaching, grasping and carrying activities are also required,
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and
- Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
