ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Position Summary
Generates new business and ensures growth of existing accounts. Assesses potential application of company products or services and offers solutions that meet customer needs. Researches and presents reports showing potential customers the cost benefit of purchasing company products or services. Provides technical training to clients and communicates customer feedback for future product developments. Uses technical knowledge of product offerings to support and build sales.
Essential to this Position

• Working with assigned account managers to establish strategies, objectives, and action plans in regard to custom protective returnable packaging for key accounts within assigned territories
• Achieve effective territory coverage through a combination of joint and independent sales calls, working closely with ORBIS regional account managers
• Prospecting to grow customer base within assigned territory
• Create high quality custom designs, samples, and cost estimates as required
• Manage protective returnable packaging design projects throughout the project life, from initial design and proposal though customer order point
• Customer visits and on-site consultation to drive protective returnable packaging revenue and margin within assigned territories
• Drive new market development (e.g., rack, general industrial, electronics) as well as new product introductions to targeted customer base
• Conceptualize part layouts and produce density studies utilizing our specialized CAD viewer for optimizing pack densities
• Maintain exceptional communication with regional account managers and other sales engineers to ensure an effective team selling effort across territories and accounts
• Develop new and innovative approaches to market requirements
• Provide cost estimates within a timely manner while adhering to sound engineering principals and ISO compliance
• Align Packaging designer resources to the needs of the business
• Other duties as assigned

• Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the sales function or business unit
• Knowledge of and ability to use diverse tools, tactics and techniques to persuade a person to perform a desired action
• Knowledge of processes, tools, techniques and theory behind selling the organization's products or services
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize customer profile and information
• Knowledge of and ability to coordinate multiple and diverse options for selling organization's products and services
• Knowledge of specific products and associated development process and strategy

• Balance of sales and engineering skills
• Spatial ability- 3D design and model recognition
• Ability to convey concepts, requirements via sketching
• CAD design capability
• Ability to handle the stress of working with others
• Availability outside of normal business hours
• Ability to lead by example
