Salary: $85,000 - $105,000, commensurate with experience
The Launch Manager is a representative of the Product Development team. You will be partnered with the Design Director, and together, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, control, reporting and evaluation of new product launches.
As Launch Manager you will be in charge of overseeing and spearheading the efforts in introducing new products and services to the market. You will report to the Head of Engineering and will work closely with the Product Marketing Director, Design Director, Engineering and Manufacturing. Responsibilities include setting objectives, performing research and analysis to establish marketing plans, coordinating with different teams in finding and developing marketing opportunities, managing timelines and budgets, supervising promotional procedures, and conducting inspections to ensure the quality and readiness of products and services for launch. Typically, the Launch Manager will be engaged in 2-4 projects at any given time. This is a vital role that ensures timely launches and enables informed decision making by senior leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Planning
- Define the scope of the Launch in collaboration with senior management
- Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the Launch
- Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the Launch
- Develop a schedule for Launch completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
- Review/Revise the Launch schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the Launch activities
- Determine the objectives and measures upon which the Launch will be evaluated at its completion
Staffing
- In consultation with the appropriate manager, assign, recruit and select staff with appropriate skills for the Launch activities
- Manage Launch staff according to the established policies and practices at Tournesol
- Contract qualified consultants to work on a given project as appropriate
Implementation
- Execute the Launch according to the Launch plan
- Develop forms and records to document Launch activities
- Set up files to ensure that all Launch information is appropriately documented
- Monitor progress and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful project completion
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization
- Review the quality of the work completed with the team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the requirements
- Develop the Cost – Price estimate details for the product line
- Develop any new supplier relations required for the product
Control and Reporting
- Create and deliver Status Reports
- Monitor and obtain approval all budgeted expenditures
- Manage all projects funds according to established accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date
Evaluate the Launch
- Ensure that the Launch deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
- Evaluate the outcomes of the Launch as established during the planning phase

Physical demands
This role requires regular sustained computer use, with regular phone and/or video conferencing.
