Full description of the position

Position Summary


Salary: $135,400- $169,200 plus commission

The VP of Sales and Marketing will be responsible for leading the development, growth and implementation of transportation and logistics services for chemical, fuels, food and specialty products markets. The emphasis will be on implementing integrated transportation management and logistics solutions that span across North America.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and accelerate the development and growth of KAG Logistics in the fuels, chemical, food and specialty products logistics business platforms
  • Develop long-term and sustainable client relationships
  • Oversee the sales team their individual sales planning, pipeline development and sales execution
  • Develop new opportunities within the existing customer base or prospects through personal relationships and professional networks
  • Collaborate closely with internal Sales and Logistics Operations organizations to execute on growth strategies and services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with “C” level logistics contacts in prospective customer organizations to allow the company to sell the capabilities and value of the overall Logistics service offerings
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of implementing services to new accounts and/or adding additional services to existing accounts
  • Evaluate competitor service offerings to determine company service offerings that align with growth strategies
  • Maintain close communication with customers and operations management team to ensure uniform understanding of customer expectations relative to logistics solutions, timelines, cost and execution.
  • Maintain business development and customer relationship for all customers and new prospects
  • Responsible for all aspects of the contract negotiations, implementation, and communications internally and externally
  • Make customized presentations to address issues and close new business
  • Develop strategic relationships with other service providers as necessary to enhance customer service offerings
  • Direct marketing initiatives for the logistics organization

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of leading, developing, growing business and results from concept through to execution in delivering Transportation and logistics solutions and outsourced services
  • Experience selling supply chain services, with expertise in selling outsourced logistics services a must
  • 10-20 years of proven leadership, results and experience in Transportation and Logistics Operations and/or business development, preferably in third party logistics services
  • Must have highly developed leadership, communication (verbal and written), organizational, interpersonal, problem analysis and resolution, and customer service skills
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to problem solve and exercise effective judgment; entrepreneurial spirit; harmonious approach to dealings with colleagues and associates; and strong interpersonal skills and networking ability.
  • Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end Transportation Management, logistics services and the enabling technologies is a major benefit
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office products

  • Extensive travel will be required
  • Position will be located in North Canton, Ohio
