Foundational Experiences
Formal Sales Training – Successfully competed formal sales training (within or outside of the industry) and applied learnings to achieve sales targets
Technical Sales Experience – A track record of successfully achieving revenue and profit growth by contacting and influencing and/or selling directly to customers; experience presenting, explaining or demonstrating products and services, preparing quotes or proposals and closing sales. Using technology as an asset. Experience with negotiating
Multiple Products – Experience in selling more multiple products to wide range of buyers, as well as track record of success in introducing new products into a territory with immediate results.
Clinical Expertise – Experience using clinical data and acumen to enhance sales process and increase adoption of new customers
Job Summary:
- Maximize profit by achieving sales revenue targets and grow market share for a specified territory, by promoting, selling and servicing Cardiovascular Systems, Inc Customer with CSI Peripheral Vascular and Coronary products
- Practice good, ethical territory management in terms of organization, planning, administration and expense planning and control
- Increase sales and revenue by aggressively establishing and developing new accounts while providing top level service to existing accounts
- Train appropriate medical staff on products and procedures
- Meet expectations as defined by Sales Management
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Increase sales by developing new users and driving adoption and continued use in target accounts
- Build meaningful partnerships with KOLs and other high-volume coronary and/ or peripheral interventionalists in target accounts
- Partner with CSI Team Members to create account business plans and implement growth strategies with target physicians. This might include:
- Developing belief and clinical confidence with new and existing users, fellows, support staff, District Sales Managers (DSMs), and Regional Sales Directors (RSD’s) in target accounts
- Pre-procedural planning and case debrief with physician
- Setting physician expectations before, during and after a case by painting a picture of what success looks like for the physician, staff and administration
- Anticipating and adapting to challenges, and coaching physician and staff through complex clinical situations
- Use corporate programs and resources to drive adoption with new and existing users
- Negotiating all aspects of launching a new technology
- Articulating clinical and economic value proposition and success stories to all stakeholders
- Demonstrating and in-servicing to key individuals and departments
- Guiding new users through the certification process
- Develop and implement strategies to counter competitors in collaboration with other departments, manage inventory to optimally balance availability of product with inventory costs
- Proactively develop knowledge, skills and abilities in all relevant areas; e.g., clinical, technical, product and sales skills
- Recognize, understand, and be able to communicate features, strengths, and drawbacks of competitive products in relation to the company’s products
- Participate in product and skill development programs and activities such as classroom education, on-the-job training, and other relevant activities that assist in the development of the team and yourself
- Utilize all technology available to aid in sales process
- Adherence with all company policies and procedures; e.g., CSI Code of Conduct, AdvaMed, etc.,
- Compliance with all relevant clinical and regulatory body guidelines
- Adherence to customer account policies and procedures where applicable
- Compliance with all safety standards, policies and regulations
- Compliance with all other standards, policies and legal requirements related to this position.
Qualifications:
- 4 Year / Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of medical sales experience
- Demonstrated high level of sales performance in a highly technical, competitive, and volatile environment
- Experience launching new technologies, and successfully changing treatment algorithms
- Successful track-record of selling premium medical device products, with demonstrated success selling clinical and economic value, and overcoming barriers to adoption with external customers: Customers may include Vascular Surgeons, Interventional cardiologists and cath lab clinical staff, Purchasing directors, Hospital administration
- Comfortable presenting clinical and economic data, interpreting and demonstrating trends from the data and presenting data to physicians, hospital executives, and other clinical and non-clinical personnel in a compelling and credible fashion.
- Experience calling on multi-functional stakeholders in a hospital, and building relationships with key thought leaders
- Demonstrated skills in account, inventory, expense, and budget management
- Demonstrated skills in sales planning, organization and execution
- Consistent success working in a variety of business conditions
- Ability to teach and educate medical personnel, peers, and technical support personnel
- Demonstrated success working in a collaborative environment
- Computer (PC) literacy
- Sales management or training experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Infectious disease; Radiation; Blood borne pathogens
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including lead aprons and other PPE that may weigh more than 25 pounds
- Ability to work in Operating Rooms and Cath Labs & Interventional Radiology
- Ability to travel by car and plane. Must have valid driver’s license for state of residency
- Ability to conduct company business outside of the typical Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, work-schedule preferred
- Frequent travel up to 75% with some overnight or weekend travel occasionally required
- Ability to work out of a home office
