Under general supervision of the optical sales branch manager, is responsible for assisting patients and Optical Dispensers by aiding them in selection, delivering, ordering, cleaning, arranging and maintaining optical displays, supplies and equipment. Educates patients/staff members on the benefits associated with utilizing Optical Center services (quality, service, affordability, products offered, and third party reimbursement filing).
Essential Responsibilities:
Assists patients by educating them about Optical Centers quality, service, products and ability to support third party reimbursement filings for hardware benefits. Educates internal key stakeholders regarding Optical Center operations and products through one-on-one or small group discussions. Assists patients and Optical Dispensers by aiding them in the selection of frames and other optical products (excluding tints, coatings or any other prescription altering product); Picks up and delivers parts, eye wear, contact lenses and other supplies at various locations; Orders supplies; Cleans, arranges and maintains optical displays, shop areas and other optical equipment and supplies; Prepares, packs and unpacks shipments of eyewear and supplies, and returns shipments as necessary. Will perform customer service in Optometry waiting areas. Performs other related duties as necessary. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED. Demonstrated customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to handle high member volume in a friendly and cooperative manner. Prior sales knowledge with a strong sense of fashion preferred. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment. Also refer to Position Specifications outlined in the appropriate collective bargaining agreement.
- High School Diploma/GED. 50 mile driving required. ABO (American Board of Opticianary) certification preferred.
