Great opportunity for an aspiring professional that wants to sell interior design contracting projects. Main Place is looking for a Sales Trainee that would be able to learn, develop, and eventually move into a full-time Project Manager position. Our Project Manager’s design and sell remodel contracting projects of interior design components such as; Flooring, Window Treatments, Cabinetry, Countertops, and Kitchen, Bath, and Closet remodel projects. We operate from a fast-paced interior design showroom in Cottonwood and execute projects throughout Sedona and the Verde Valley.

We are willing to train the new associate in all aspects of our business in preparation for a future role as a Project Manager. The successful candidate should have a professional demeanor and an enthusiasm to learn and prepare for the future role in our company.

The Sales training process is expected to take anywhere from 4-12 months depending on the candidate and their background. During the training period, the new associate will act as a Sales Assistant supporting the existing business. This Sales Assistant period will introduce the new associate to our business, our products, and our process. The new associate will interact with Clients, work in our showroom, and support the sales process on ongoing actual projects. Compensation is going to be at entry level ($20/hr) during the initial phase of this process. As skills are developed and the new associate is able to contribute in greater ways, compensation will increase. Compensation will culminate when the new associate is promoted into a full-time Project Manager position. Project Managers are very well compensated, and the time spent learning and preparing will be well worth it. The training period should be looked at as a vocational training program, where not only do you not have to pay for it, but you will earn as you work and develop.

Previous experience and/or an aptitude in one of the following aspects is required:

1. Sales 2. Construction 3. Interior Design

The candidate should be a self-starter with a happy attitude and an outgoing personality. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, reliable, and possess excellent written communication skills. In order to develop into the Project Manager role, the new associate will take the initiative to attain product knowledge, learn new skills, and be able to multitask. The ideal candidate will have basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with Quick Books is a plus. Previous experience in a Sales position will be helpful and familiarity with construction projects and/or interior design experience is also a plus.

This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday 8:30a - 5p.
