Customer & Sales Support Specialist
The Customer Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the customer service and sales teams in the attainment of new customers and sustaining growth of current customers. This role is responsible for building and optimizing internal processes that increases profitability and customer retention while also executing specific functions to move customers more quickly through the onboarding process. This position will be on-site, with possible work from home options in the future.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Create, execute and continuously improve the new customer onboarding, reducing friction and cost
- Produce estimates and quotes for chain customers while cross-checking pricing against similar products to other customers
- Monitor chain pricing and sales history to protect margins
- Follow-up with key internal contributors to perform their tasks so new opportunities progress faster
- Enter all selling information into customer portals and internal systems
- Regularly monitor chain customer purchasing patterns to ensure their sales meet actual
- Be point person to lead in resolution of any customer issues
- Be fluent in Salesforce to develop custom reports and dashboards required to better understand business status
- Support and collaborate with the Distribution team on Quote and Sample programs
- Collaborate with Customer Service and the Distribution segment to ensure we are meeting agreed upon customer service levels
- Participate in department and company strategic sessions
- Participate in New Business meetings and ensure that chain opportunities are properly vetted, designed and are advancing at acceptable rates
Ideal Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in similar customer service/ sales support role preferably in the food service supply or similar industry (jan/san, paper products)
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with customer onboarding, and sales quoting process
- Experience with project management
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
