SALES ASSOCIATE with Extensive Gardening/Nursery Experience

Cole Hardware is looking to hire a full-time sales associate with previous nursery/gardening experience for our Cole Valley and North Beach San Francisco locations.

Applicants must have extensive retail and garden experience and a strong passion for plants, gardening, and sustainability. They should also have a flair for visual merchandising with both indoor and outdoor plants and dcor.

Applicants must be bright, outgoing, very friendly, and have excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Previous retail experience, especially in the garden/hardware industry is a must. While this position is garden-centric, the individual will work our entire store, assisting customers throughout. Therefore knowledge of hardware, paint, etc. is a bonus but not required.

Requirements:
Strong product knowledge in gardening & nursery, retail experience a plus but not required
Education/Training: High School diploma, some college is preferred
Prior retail experience preferred, not required
Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS word, and other computer systems (computer literate)
A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction
Solid team player with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings

Wage range: $18.00-$22.00

Physical Demands:
Able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently
Able to stand for long periods of time
Able to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth.
