Telecommunications ENTERPRISE SALES EXECUTIVE in Ellettsville, IN
Smithville, an established and trusted local provider of Internet, Voice, TV, and Security, is seeking an Enterprise Sales Executive to join the team. As part of the sales team, and under the general direction of the Vice President, Commercial Sales, the Enterprise Sales Executive will be responsible for all sales functions within an assigned territory. These sales functions include, but are not limited to, executing sales strategy, forecasting, identifying needs, soliciting, securing contracts from potential and existing customers, and providing customer service throughout the customer lifecycle for our internet, voice and other services in all segments of our enterprise customer markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acquiring new business by prospecting for new customers in the assigned territory (via telephone calls, door-to-door, emails, letters, social media and networking) (35%)
- Leveraging relationships via referral and key industry partners
- Gaining referrals from current customers
- Participating in marketing demand generation initiatives
- Organizing internal resources appropriate to each customer opportunity
- Attending community events
- Providing consultative selling solutions to both new and existing customers (30%)
- Cross-selling new products and services
- Building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with all influencers while understanding their budgeting needs
- Challenging conventional thinking to enhance credibility and establish differentiation from competitors
- Delivering customized solutions which meet customer expectations
- Sales forecasting, meeting and exceeding company sales metrics by gaining profitable business (15%)
- Building and maintaining a consistent sales funnel and pipeline or opportunities
- Tracking relevant productivity metrics and adjusting activity
- Submitting activity and results reports on time
- Managing sales opportunities through CRM (Salesforce) to help drive the sales process
- Submitting accurate orders in a timely manner
- Maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing customers (10%)
- Being resourceful and taking initiative to resolve customer issues
- Developing a relationship with partners to build a professional network in territory to educate the business community
- Following-up to ensure customer satisfaction
- Pursuing professional and personal development to ensure competitive knowledge of industry products (5%)
- Improving business acumen and professional capability
- Communicating and collaborating with other internal teams
- Listening to learn all critical business issues
- Other duties as assigned (5%)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years in negotiating and closing commercial sales, with ability to build and maintain long term business relationships.
- Familiarity with the telecommunications industry, and/or knowledge of internet and voice services and products
- Strong understanding and experience in services such as VOIP, fiber-option solutions, broadband and dark fiber leases
- Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills
- Ability to effectively work with internal departments and cross-functional teams
- Customer-focused, with understanding of overall business needs and costs
- Comfortable meeting customers at their locations, including business, home, or other sites
- Self-directed and results driven, high level of time-management
- Experience with identifying, prospecting, and penetrating defined base of accounts
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Experience working in Salesforce or other equivalent CRM
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Reader, and Outlook
- Indiana operator’s license, with driving record acceptable to our insurer
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
- Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm; however, may include evenings and weekends for special events and other meetings
- Use of a Smithville company vehicle during business hours and trips
- Ability to travel to customer sites 40-60% of work week is required
