Job Purpose:
The Senior Field Sales Specialist will be responsible for acquiring new customers within the designated geographical territory across Nespresso’s strategic customer segments in close partnership with our distribution partners and through Nespresso’s direct account relationships, while evolving the business with existing customers to deliver agreed objectives/targets. This role is remote based in the San Diego area.

The Senior Field Sales Specialist will be responsible for acquiring new customers within the designated geographical territory across Nespresso’s strategic customer segments in close partnership with our distribution partners and through Nespresso’s direct account relationships, while evolving the business with existing customers to deliver agreed objectives/targets. This role is remote based in the San Diego area.
Responsibilities:
- Aligned with the field sales plan, identify sales opportunities within the designated territory and strategic segments.
- Identify and contact prospects using diverse methods and tools (cold calling/visit, social media, events).
- Acquire new customers by following the Nespresso guidelines
- Liaise with B2B Sales Support and COE teams to ensure flawless execution of lead management activities.
- Collaborate with Key/National Account Team as well as Partnership team to expand Nespresso's market share via strategic and core segments.
- Tailor our value proposition to suit each segment opportunity, with the aim to increase business with existing customers/maximize the market penetration rate in a customer.
- Use P&L approach for specific offers to reach the sales targets - Use of CRM system to grow/ maintain existing customers.
- Maintain and nurture relationship with key decision makers after the initial purchase to build partnership.
- Liaise with B2B colleagues and all functions to ensure flawless execution of customer lifecycle management.
- Expand existing local opportunities where appropriate by collaborating with Partnership and Key/National Account teams.
- Solid understanding of the territory and customer’s needs within each segment.
- Understand future trends and use this knowledge to capture business opportunities with leads and existing customers.
- Monitor and report all competitive activities and share it with trade marketing and team.
- Challenge areas of improvement and suggest ideas to close gaps.
- Collect accurate inputs to ensure compliance of the sales process.
- Compliance with Nestlé and Nespresso business principles and policies including Nestlé Nespresso trade policy, local Sales policy, local Trade Terms, Safety and legal regulations.
- Manage all aspects of his/her territory including but not limited to budgets, T&E, and strategic partnerships.
- Accurately forecast capsule consumption, equipment needs and accessories for market - and collaborate with affected partners on internal team.
Requirements:
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology or in a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in a Field Sales role working with and/or managing a DSD food service with strategic partners required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) required.
- Must have excellent presentation, communication (oral and written) and follow-up skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, strategic, agile and must also be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management and teamwork skills.
- Must be willing to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Willing and able to travel up to 30% based on the needs of the business.
The approximate pay range for this position is $83,000 to $115,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
