WHAT WE NEED:

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Supply & SIOP Manager in Kent, OH. This person will strategically manage the supply chain of make and buy items through the purchasing and planning departments. This includes developing and continuously improving the sales and inventory operations planning process and improving the customer experience through inventory management. This individual must have a high level of energy, drive and initiative as well as possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Some responsibilities of the Supply & SIOP Manager position include (but is not limited to):

  • Leads the Purchasing, Planning, and Sales/Inventory Operation Planning departments in supporting company objectives, managing the processes, inventory levels, and direct reports.

Performs the planning and purchasing functions of products and materials, both internationally and domestically.
Identifies and selects vendors to procure requisitioned commodities, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality and delivery dates with the goal of improving customer service KPI’s.
Regularly sources new supplier and vendor relationships and continuously develops current relationships to maintain alternate sources of supplies, where applicable.
Negotiates with suppliers, through ethical means, for terms of purchase and planning in order to attain optimized cost savings for the Company. Negotiates all prices for purchased material, including finished goods (excluding inter-company prices), production components, non-production material and other goods and services as assigned.
Proactively takes the lead to resolve quality problems with suppliers of purchased material. This includes problem solving with suppliers on new product development, including transportation, packaging, and specifications.
Creates and analyzes vendor scorecards to ensure vendors are consistently and effectively meeting the needs of the Company. Identifies vendors who do not consistently meet the terms of the contracts and develops problem-solving methods.
Works closely with Marketing to ensure timely introduction of new products; works with Engineering to support new product introduction launches.
Owns the planning and analysis the status of backordered finished goods or shortage of production material, communicating to Customer Service and DC functions.
Facilitates export/import shipment of purchased goods, providing necessary information to the traffic function of distribution.
Establishes short term and long-term objectives for Supply Chain and Logistics to meet business needs. Works directly with import Logistics provider as required.
Assists with the Finance and Marketing Director in the management of excess and obsolete inventory.
Works with Director of Operations on strategic sourcing and capacity planning to ensure efficient utilization of resources to meet demands.
Takes corrective action to eliminate shortages or excess stock due to changes in customer demands and forecasts.
Understands overall Floral business, market and customers behavior.
Supports and leads by example the Core Values of the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • An individual with a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is required. APICS or ISM certification preferred.
  • An individual with a minimum of 6 years of related procurement experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • An individual who fully understands the MOQs and SPQ’s and must have thorough knowledge of MRP and MPS processes and how it affects purchasing.
  • An individual with experience using ERP systems such as JD Edwards (Oracle) or SAP.
  • An individual who is experienced with purchasing and negotiating both domestically and internationally.
  • An individual who can communicate orally in a clear and professional manner and respond well to questions and challenges, and must be able to write clearly and informatively.

This position is based in Kent, OH and therefore we are looking for someone who resides in the northeast Ohio area. This position can follow a hybrid work schedule where he/she works from home as well as in the office during the week.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $102,000.00 - $122,000.00 per year
