The Director of Business Development, as an essential member of the Senior Management Staff, is responsible for directing the Community Education/Business Development efforts, and development and continuous refinement of the facilitys business development plan. Consulting with the Chief Executive Officer and other Senior Management Staff, this position designs, develops, implements and directs the business development strategic goals, philosophy, policies, procedures, and systems and oversees all of the Business Development Department. This position is responsible for reporting, analyzing and presenting current market data and trends and for recommending/implementing appropriate Business Development strategic plans.

Identify and oversee the development of the community relations programs necessary to meet the key mental health and substance abuse treatment needs of the community
Develop and implement strategic marketing and referral initiatives to generate a continuous flow of admissions to meet the census goals of the hospital and build the Coastal Harbor Health System brand in the community
Perform personnel management duties including recruiting and retention, providing department orientation and training, completing performance evaluations, competency assessments, etc.
Supervise direct staff to ensure effective utilization of referral services and community relations opportunities including scheduling employees, identifying and addressing training needs and implementing a system of on-going employee performance monitoring
Under the direction of the CEO and CFO, manage contractual partnerships including creating, renewing, and negotiating terms and conditions.
Gather, analyze and report monthly facility clinical data to the Quality Council, Medical Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, Patient Safety Council, etc.
Initiates, develops and maintains relationships with community providers and stakeholders in support of the clinical needs of the community

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or Human Services; Masters preferred.

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience managing the marketing/public relation’s efforts of a behavioral healthcare setting.

Prior experience required in referral development, strategic planning, systems development, staff management and maintenance of information systems related to marketing.

Experience in managed care contracting preferred.

Applicant should have knowledge of the local behavioral healthcare marketplace, insurance plans, target markets and referral sources, psychiatric and chemical dependency diagnosis and age specific programming.

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
