Funding Specialist

Job Function: Intake, Prior Authorization, Submission, Follow-up

Responsibilities:

• Coordinating the intake, submission, and follow-up of new product orders
• Requesting new prescriptions and face to face documents, and other required documents by insurance plans
• Working closely with speech-language pathologist, government agencies, and educational institutions to obtain order authorization and thorough reviews of documents for submission ensuring they meet third party payer criteria
• Coordination via phone, email, and fax to facilities to inquire on statuses of prescriptions, face to face documents, prior authorization forms, certificates of medical necessity, and any other necessary forms
• Responding to inquiries and general funding questions via email or through the phone queue calls on behalf of the funding team
• Maintain and organize the incoming requests from other team members, whether presented in person, via reporting, or from Salesforce
• Work closely with sales team to ensure all funding requests are moving forward
• Maintaining communication with speech language pathologists on funding cases and instruct on document preparation and funding policies and regulations
• Working with insurance providers, government agencies, and educational institutions to place new product, repair or rental orders
• Tracking funding authorization cases ensuring requests are resolved to completion in at timely manner
• Utilizing on-line resources and maintain frequent communication with funding agencies to verify eligibility
• Reviewing prior authorization documents against third party criteria
• Researching previous orders and payment history for any repair or new order requests
• Enter and complete orders in the order management system database
• Serve as client advocate by communicating with clients and family members on funding requests and co-payment requirements, representing client's case with third party insurance providers and troubleshooting any problems to resolution
• Resolving third party denials and provide consultation to finalize difficult funding cases
• Alerting supervisor of potential third-party payer challenges
• Prepare guides, policies, and/or procedures for billing various states, agencies, and providers to ensure department wide compliance
• Research and resolve any/all unknown issues to the best of your ability and implement into policy and procedure
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education:

• 2+ years related experience
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Interest in the healthcare industry

Skills Needed:

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast paced environment
• Experience in Adobe
• Experience with Salesforce CRM
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams)
• Experience with internet navigation skills
• Experience with customer service skills
• Strong writing skills
• Ability to adapt to change, and communicate efficiently with co-workers and customers
• Oral and written communication skills including interpersonal, collaboration, and teaming skills

Other Requirements:

• Must complete a background check
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is recommended, but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
