Retail Sales Senior Strategic Account Manager - Lighting (remote) in Santa Fe Springs, CA
We are seeking a Sr. Strategic Account Manager who has strong lighting fixture and controls knowledge on both the design and technical sides. In this role, you will maintain client relationships with key target accounts that have a major strategic impact on the long-term success of the organization. The Senior SAM will support the dedicated sales and operations teams to ensure high level account penetration, repeat sales opportunities and work to resolve any service issues or concerns to ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the development and execution of the strategic account plans at key, named accounts.
- Manage multiple projects in various stages, including hold for release purchase orders, submittals and shop drawings, getting fixture and control approvals, releasing fixtures and controls for production, delivery logistics and warranty claims.
- Drives new business development. Will research, qualify, contact, present and close new clients based on an assigned territory or market segment.
- Continuously develops relationships with priority customer stakeholders, understands their key business issues, and recommends ways to deliver value.
- Liaison between the field and Global Accounts teams as it relates to pursuing new agreements, Value-Add/Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) commitments and increasing customer wallet-share.
- Maintains and manages a pipeline of opportunities at named accounts, including renewals, projects, and share improvement opportunities.
- Communicates customer activity, opportunity status, renewal status, and strategic plan progress to management.
- Leads and oversees solution development efforts that best address customer needs, including management of the light fixture and controls submittal process and working with architects and electrical contractors for approval.
- Engages supplier sales and management resources to enlist their support and create solutions, including value engineering fixture types for cost competitive quotes.
- Manage new construction lighting projects from the design stage to project completion.
- Expert in strategic selling and takes the lead in high level sales engagements. Provides pre and post-call coaching to branch sales team.
Qualifications:
- High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 5+ years proven sales experience as a strategic account manager of large account portfolios
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and projects.
- Strong working knowledge of construction documents including CD’s, DD’s, RCP’s, single line diagrams, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Salesforce experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of lighting design, layouts, light levels, and photometrics.
- History of success maintaining and developing key relationships.
- Success in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of people and resources.
- Ability to understand where potential exists in assigned accounts and can recognize and create opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong client relationships.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office.
- Self-starter and able to work efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
The expected salary range for this role is $101,600 - $152,500. This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s compensation level within the range will be based on several factors, including but not limited to geographic location, experience, relevant education, qualifications, skills, organizational needs, and performance. This position may be eligible to participate in the company’s incentive plan.
