Position Summary:

The Sales director works with the hotel General Manager to maximize revenue opportunities through the sale of group rooms and conference facility space. They are responsible for soliciting and securing room revenue and event budgets. In addition, they are accountable for brand communication and public relations. A hardworking leadership style and excellent communication and decision-making skills are a must. Candidates report directly to the hotel General Manager. Previous sales experience required.

Essential Functions:

• Work cohesively with leadership team to achieve established revenue goals
• Effectively listen and communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
• Maximize all guest room and conference revenue opportunities
• Review sales and other revenue generating business plans, identify gaps, ensure proactive measures to fill the hotel and conference space capacity
• Develop relationships with businesses and organizations to foster repeat business, and increase awareness of the brand in the local community
• Understand the marketplace and implement methods to ensure the hotel stays competitive in the local market
• Prospect, solicit, negotiate, contract and service a variety of markets, including but not limited to large convention business and preferred corporate travel.
• Respond to incoming third-party leads, including Visit Spokane and consortia travel agencies
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Work in conjunction with marketing department to build reviews
