Job Title: Director of Event Sales

Description
Position Overview: The Director of Event Sales is responsible for a major portion of the outside sales of the PAMM facility rental program with a focus on the corporate market. This position is also responsible for pitching, contracting and executing events. The Director of Event Sales will also collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer and exclusive catering contractor in strategic planning and marketing of PAMM as a rental facility.

Bachelor’s degree required
Qualifications: Minimum 6-8 years’ sales and marketing experience, as related to special events and/or catering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel; Altru preferred).
- Experience working with social and corporate events.
- Attention to detail, well organized.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with budgeting and planning.
- Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Appreciation of contemporary art a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Must possess diplomatic and creative qualities.

Physical Demands:
- Walk, bend, lift (up to 15 pounds) files, office supplies an electronic equipment.

- Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
- Ability to hear in normal tones including telephone and face-to-face conversation.
Essential Functions included, but are not limited to:
- Directs the activities of the Museum sales team, providing leadership and motivation necessary to implement effective sales strategies and to maximize the generation of revenue.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce event sales revenue.
- Develops and manages the departmental budget and monitors sales activities/performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan.
- Develops and maintains good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups and companies.
- Recruits, hires, trains, and provides career development for all sales personnel; conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback to employees using company hiring standards and guidelines.
- Fosters relationships with corporate planners and social/wedding planners.
- Attends networking events and joins networking groups in order to develop new leads.
- Makes sales calls and plans onsite meetings and lunches with potential lead sources.
- Accepts inquiries, creates proposals, and conducts site visits of the facility in a timely manner.
- Responds to phone/email inquiries in a timely manner.
- Contracts and prepare financial/billing statements for clients.
- Executes rental events from contracting to the event with support from various museum departments.
- Supports the Director of Finance in developing annual revenue projections, monitor monthly revenue, and reaching sales goals.
- Possesses a strong ability to audit sales trends.
- Places orders for rental and audiovisual equipment from vendors (when needed).
- Spearheads marketing and promotions regarding facility rentals.
- Maintains the Museum events calendar.
- Conducts weekly sales meetings.
- Collaborates as needed on large PAMM events (Gala, Corporate Lunch, PAMM Presents, member events, etc.).
