Job Summary

This role will be responsible for performing customer site visits to gather details to ensure that our telecommunications products and services fit customer needs. Responsibilities also include the design, deployment and support of the solutions provided to the customers, working in conjunction with the Telecommunications Sales Specialist and members of the Engineering teams.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Designing, installing and supporting internet and voice services for SMB and Enterprise customers.
  • Work with customers and prospects to determine needs, goals, and identify problems.
  • Assist in gathering technical data including site surveys/diagrams and work with engineering staff and sales personnel to produce accurate quotes and service orders to ensure that the technical needs of the service are met and covered by rates to be quoted.
  • Attend qualified sales and partner calls as needed. This will provide various sales personnel a resource to answer technical concerns, further identifying and qualifying opportunities.
  • Coordinate with multiple internal teams as well as customers for site visits, installatons and conversions.
  • Install and configure equipment, including access technologies, telephony equipment, switches and routers.
  • Follow implementation guidelines, processes, and procedures to ensure service delivery standards and quality are upheld, customer satisfaction is achieved, and appropriate documentation is published for on-going customer supportability.
  • Performs all modifications, moves, changes and installation of telephone services and devices.
  • Perform hardware/software/services component provisioning, configuration, and deployment of customer site services.
  • Performs quality control checks of work done at customer premises.
  • Troubleshoot and resole service issues at customer sites.
  • Train customers on their new equipment and services.
  • Adhere to project scope, deliverables, real-time labor hour time entries and work performed documentation, proactive issues management, and timeline parameters.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with project managers, clients, and internal staff to ensure expectations are set correctly and current work effort and service deliverable(s) statuses and/or issues are known.
  • Ability to travel for business; Must possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diligent, methodical, resourceful, observant, and detail-oriented.
  • Experience with network design, Ethernet, fiber optics, TCP/IP, DHCP, NAT, IP Subnetting, IP Routing, VOIP, SIP, and TDM.
  • Knowledge of key and PBX systems, IP telephony systems and Integrated Access Devices/Analog Telephone Adapters.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills including the ability to identify and resolve challenging situations in a timely manner.
  • Experience with packet captures, both capturing and analyzing to identify and correct issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn a technical product or service and effectively sell or support that product.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills that will provide the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Outstanding service and response time working with clients
  • Passion for learning technologies and curious for new ideas.
  • Skilled in operating service equipment including various hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Ability to take ownership and work independently and make sound technical decisions using information at hand.
  • Flexibility to be available for scheduled night and weekend implementation projects if/when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years performing design, install and repair of customer phone services.
  • A+ Certification.
  • Net+ Certification.
