Job Title Description:

The Product Manager will gather market intelligence, conduct competitive analysis and translate user needs to help drive new product innovation and manage existing product lines. In addition, the Product Manager will build relationships with key customers and internal departments to ensure that all stakeholders have a centralized resource in the product development and product management process. The Product Manager will plan, organize, and control the IMI product portfolio from conceptual stages through product lifecycle to optimize profits and meet marketing, financial and corporate objectives.

Position Description:

Responsibilities include full life cycle product management, from conceptual stages to post-market surveillance. Analyze and anticipate market conditions to identify marketing trends, customer requirements, inform competitive strategy, and identify opportunities for increasing customer and business value through product differentiation. Actively participates and informs within the product development process, represents the voice of customer, owns customer requirements and ultimate product success. Owns product unit and revenue forecasting and projections. Expected to be internal product expert and to interact with clinical advisers, customers, and industry partners. Use sound research to help inform marketing strategy, develop product positioning, and identify target customers. Must be able to develop robust business plans/cases for new products and effectively communicate the data, rationale, and ROI to the IMI leadership team. Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing Operations to develop and provide product definition responsive to customer needs and market opportunities. Strong market research and analysis capabilities is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Research and be a source of information for market changes, competitive products, benefits, and value of IMI products as they relate to customer segments
• Specify market requirements and voice of customer needs for current and future products
• Conduct market analysis and competitive research and technology assessments
• Interpret and translate scientific clinical data into commercial implications then translating into product requirements, user stories, and scenario
• Apply good, fact-based, judgement to align product development with company strategy
• Seek new market opportunities by leveraging the company's unique competence and identity
• Interface with Research and Development to ensure product development efforts support the primary purpose
• Provide actionable data to Manufacturing Operations, Sales, and Marketing through analysis of product demand and ordering trends
• Coordinate with Sales and Marketing to ensure maximum penetration of market segment
• Create and lead product training and as needed to provide expert level product support
• Provide continuing product surveillance and management of established product to obtain financial objectives
• Ability to develop and present business plans and market opportunity assessments
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Prior Experience / Qualifications

• 6+ years relative work experience in product management within the health care industry (preferred)
• Familiar with medical devices or medical product manufacturing/engineering environment
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and research skills
• Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking and planning
• Comfortably speak clinical language of pharmaceutical compounding
• Strong market research, analysis, and data mining capabilities are required
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team

Education

• BA/BS in Marketing or Product Management Related Field
