Kinne Creek Association is hiring a Caretaker for their Fishing and Hunting Club property in Baldwin, MI. Interested individuals or couples must be available to work onsite daily at the property in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan.

Compensation: $40,000 to $50,000 yearly + Supplemental Pay

About Kinne Creek Association:
The Kinne Creek Association is a private hunting, fishing and conservation club located near Baldwin, Michigan that has been in continuous operation since 1893. We are searching for a resident couple to manage our property and provide hospitality services.

Association membership is capped at 33 members who use the property and facilities with their families and guests for outdoor recreation and conservation projects.

Details Regarding the Position and Property:
KCA property encompasses approximately 1800 acres of mixed forest land and includes almost three miles of an entirely private spring creek, frontage on the Pere Marquette River and three private lakes of approximately 88 acres. Facilities include a two-bedroom resident managers’ house with dining room and commercial kitchen, a 9-bedroom main lodge (which is separate and adjacent) as well as a 3-stall garage/workshop, three boathouses and additional misc. buildings. The Club is generally open to member use by reservation from approximately March 1 to December 31.

The Property Managers have historically lived as year-round, on-site residents, rent-free, in the provided house and have use of all tools and equipment, including a club truck and 4-wheel drive tractor with front loader for maintenance and logistics. The main responsibilities of the managers are building upkeep and maintenance, road maintenance, property patrol and hospitality services (providing 3 meals daily to members and guests, and general lodging and housekeeping).

The managers’ income consists of a monthly management fee, and the proceeds (including gratuity) from all meal and hospitality services provided to the members and guests, like a bed and breakfast operation. The club managers are also typically awarded a discretionary year-end bonus.

Main Responsibilities:

• Club Facilities and Property Management
• Supervision of Forestry Projects
• Road Upkeep and Maintenance
• Property Patrol
• Provisioning and Cooking up to 3 Meals Daily when Members are Present
• General Laundry Daily and Housekeeping of the Buildings

Supplemental Pay Types and Details:

• Bonus Pay
• Earnings from provided Meals and Hospitality Services
  • In 2022, the estimated use was 1,000 Days of Lodging and 2,000 Meals)
• Gratuities of 18% on Services
• Onsite Living Accommodation: two-bedroom home and utilities, rent-free

Schedule Details:

• Operating Season is March 1st to December 31st
  • Time-Off during the Operating Season is 4 Scheduled Days per month.
• Off Season is January and February
  • Time-Off during the Off Season will be mutually agreed upon.

Minimum Requirements:

• 1 year of Experience in Property Management
• 1 Year of Experience in Client Relations
• 1 Year of Experience in Hospitality Management
• Reliable Transportation or Able to Relocate prior to Start Date
