Curriculum Sales Representative - Indiana, Kentucky, S. Dakota & N. Dakota

Curriculum Sales Representative - Ideal candidate would live in Indiana, Kentucky, S. Dakota, or N. Dakota. The base salary range for this role is $80K-$85K plus a sales incentive plan.

Travel requirement ranges from 30% to 80% of the time based on seasonality and includes regular overnight and occasional weekend trips. When not traveling, the candidate will be working out of their home office.

Job Summary
Generate sales of selected K-12 supplemental and intervention products in Kentucky, Indiana, and the Dakotas. Exceed Quota by building pipeline, closing sales, and proactively reaching out to customer base Sell and present print and digital educational resource programs and products to current and potential clients through face-to-face and virtual meetings at the clients place of business or at special exhibits and conferences. Provide service through problem resolution and support in the form of information regarding product updates and coordination of training for customer’s staff. Represent company at local, state, regional and national conferences, and exhibits. Interact with education policy makers at the local and state level.

Essential Functions
  • Sell and market educational resource products in assigned territory to K-12 public and private schools
  • Demonstrate a depth of knowledge of ELA and math state standards to best align products with customer needs
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current structured literacy best practices
  • Travel to schools, administrative offices, service centers, conferences & exhibits throughout assigned territory
  • Make sales presentations to curriculum coordinators, administrators, teachers, review committees, school board members or any other individuals as requested by the customer.
  • Transport all sales & marketing materials needed including kit samples, support material, catalogs, etc.
  • Respond in a timely fashion to all inquiries
  • Follow up promptly on sales leads from all sources
  • Process all catalog and/or sample requests
  • Maintain a complete and accurate Opportunity Pipeline
  • Generate price quotes
  • Compose and produce appropriate correspondence.
  • Maintain correspondence and other appropriate documentation files.
  • Make all necessary travel arrangements, (i.e. airline, hotel reservations, auto rental, etc.).
  • Manage expenses effectively, staying within the specified budgets
  • Provide timely reports regarding prior months sales presentations and activities as well as upcoming months schedule
  • Provide 1, 3, 6 and 12 month forecast of sales by customer, based on adoption schedules, presentations and both new and re-order business.
  • Submit expense reports for legitimate business expenses on a weekly basis with all receipts and documentation
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • 4 year college degree
  • 4-8 years selling experience with 2-4 years in K12 curriculum
  • Teaching/Education background or commensurate K12 sales experience.
  • Analytical skills

  • Must have the ability to speak and present effectively, in-person and virtually, to large groups of people on a regular basis.
  • Digital aptitude to work with and create reports in MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Strong writing skills are required.
  • Acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license and insurance in a program compliant automobile
