The Sr. Manager, Sales role is business critical. As our next Sr. Manager, Sales you will have overall responsibility for developing and executing the North American Sales strategy for the biomaterials business, to successfully achieve growth targets. This is a highly visible role, reporting directly to the General Manager of Biomaterials, North America.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the North America biomaterials sales strategy and sales budget (net sales and added value)., in alignment with the overall Corbion strategy to successfully achieve business goals.
- Build a robust and balanced sales pipeline that successfully achieves short, intermediate, and long-term growth targets across all target market segments.
- Manage relationships with select key or strategic accounts which includes the development, implementation and leading of the strategic plans for the accounts.
- Initiate, develop and nurture strong prospect and customer relationships by regular visits and frequent and meaningful communication.
- Develop, maintain and execute (Key) Account Management Plans in N. America as integral part of the sales strategy.
- Analyze industry and competitor trends to identify new sales opportunities, formulate target markets, monitor competitor activity and develop and implement appropriate response strategies.
- Assist in development and coaching of members of NA Sales team
- Assist in preparation of sales team budget, and monitor sales department expenses.
- Participate in pharmaceutical, and medical device trade shows and conferences.
- Represent voice of the customer (VOC) as a key member of the Biomaterials North American Management Team (NAMT).
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in Customer Service and Sales Support towards effective and efficient order management process.
- Support colleagues in Business Development and R&D to build a growing pipeline of new projects with existing accounts as well as new prospects.
- Engage and influence marketing teams to promote Corbion across the North American market.
- Other duties as determined by business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in technical discipline (engineering, polymer chemistry, or biomedical technology). Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in sales, and business development, in high value-add markets including experience working in a regulated industry (pharma, medical device, etc.).
- Experience with selling raw materials / excipients / ingredients / API's to the medical, orthopedic, and pharmaceutical industry.
- Well-developed skills in the following areas: coaching and mentoring colleagues, presentation, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Strong customer-orientation, results-focus, and high level of resourcefulness.
- Well-developed commercial and business acumen with track record of building successful sales teams and developing robust growth pipelines.
- Ability to travel a least 40%.
