Full description of the position

Clinical Sales Specialist – Sports Medicine and/or soft tissue experience preferred

What You Will Do

As a Clinical Sales Specialist, you assist in strategically promoting and selling Sports Medicine products to meet our customers’ needs. You confidently conduct product evaluations in Operating Room and office settings, persuasively demonstrating the value of our products. Systematically tracking your territory progress, you proactively communicate your findings with your Regional Manager and Sales Representative(s) you are supporting to push yourself to exceed each goal. When onsite with clients, you use your product knowledge and quick thinking to solve product problems and inform doctors, nurses, and other staff as to the proper use and maintenance of our products. You take great pride in meticulously managing and maintaining your sample inventory of products and are prepared to assist a customer whenever the need arises. As a Clinical Sales Specialist you love living in the fast lane and find purpose in selling products that are making healthcare better.

  • Meet or exceed territory sales objectives for each product category and in target accounts; meet or exceed territory market share objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships with prospective and existing customers.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies.
  • Maintain expert knowledge in sports medicine product, competitive product, and current market; participate in continuing education programs.
  • Provide high quality “on call” service to existing customers.
  • Provide “in service” training and other customer education in support of new product launches and to increase clinical knowledge of sports medicine products/programs.

What You Need

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year accredited college or university, preferred.
  • 4 years successful sales experience (prefer medical device sales) or demonstrated success as an Associate Representative (must be within medical device).
  • Knowledge in the use of current office technologies (MS Office suite, [please apply online] etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and develop and maintain relationships.
  • Must be comfortable in emergency/operating room environments.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to learn a product’s key features & benefits.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
  • Demonstrated biomechanical aptitude, with previous exposure to professional orthopedic or clinical work environment preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective sales and marketing plan.
  • Accustomed to working independently with a high degree of accountability.
  • Account management skills, including problem-solving, customer relations, and budgeting.
  • Must be able to lift and carry samples and surgical instruments kits up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be available on 24-hour per day basis, to respond to customer emergencies as dictated by territory and account requirements.
  • Travel required within Territory, in support of other Territories within the Region, and to national/area sales meetings and conventions.
  • This position requires the handling of instruments that may have been contaminated by blood or other bodily fluids. In compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, the company will provide a safe working environment for all employees.
