Commodity Sales Specialist

The objective of this position to drive profitable commodity growth for Viking Electric. The primary focus will be on large/complex wire and conduit opportunities in partnership with product managers and sales teams. Manage awarded orders by working closely with Operations and Commodity Product Manager to ensure customer needs are met and profitability is maintained.


Other job responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate, prepare, and close commodity sales opportunities starting with the customer quote request (RFQ)
  • Work with sales teams to book orders based on market feedback, customer needs and vendor support
  • Manage commodity orders from purchase order through final order fulfillment
  • Perform ongoing analysis of competitors products, services and pricing to uncover strategic opportunities that will enhance Viking Electric's ability to write commodity business while growing profitability of the product category
  • Serve as commodity services and solutions expert. Promote and develop new services in the marketplace
  • Work closely with key manufacturers and agent partners to position Viking Electric as their preferred supply chain partner

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience in a sales organization
  • Minimum 3 years experience in electrical distribution is preferred.
