Basic Function:
The VP Insights & Analytics is responsible for supporting the Americas Marketing and Sales organizations with consumer & shopper research (custom & syndicated) and category management leadership. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor and strategic thought leader to our Marketing, Sales, and Executive Leadership teams. This leader will ensure Revlon remains externally focused and will identify short and long-term growth opportunities based on an in-depth understanding of the competitive landscape, marketplace dynamics, and company / customer strategies. This leader will manage and develop a 16-person team, building collaborative relationships with internal and external partners across all Americas business units (Mass, Prestige, and Professional).
Major Duties:
- In partnership with Americas Marketing & Sales leadership, build and drive the insights & analytics agenda for both consumers and shoppers.
- Embed an externally oriented view of the business: ensure Marketing and Sales leaders are fully versed on category trends and competitive actions. Influence plans based on these insights.
- Bring thought leadership regarding how to maximize the effectiveness of consumer and customer investments, including trade spending, working media, creative, and in-store execution.
- Lead critical learning plan efforts, including the evolving consumer beauty journey, brand health tracking, advertising effectiveness research, and innovation pipeline development.
- Partner with customer teams to develop high-impact category strategies, insights and sell-in stories that elevate Revlon’s role as a strategic partner that drives category & brand growth.
- Synthesize point-of-sale results for senior leaders: identify business drivers and actions required to improve sales and market share performance.
- Consult with the Retail Experience team to ensure that Revlon’s assortment & shelving decisions maximize sales productivity and household penetration.
- Lead the elevation of analytical capabilities across the Americas organization, in partnership with external vendors.
- Optimize team structure, along with roles & responsibilities, to best support brand and customer teams.
- Lead and develop a team of 16 insights & analytics professionals who can embed consumer and shopper centricity at all levels of the organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience supporting packaged goods organizations. Experience in the beauty industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience managing a high-performing team.
- Able to take initiative working in a flexible, fast-paced team environment.
- Able to interact with and present to all levels of management.
- Able to successfully navigate a matrixed organization, with a range of global & local stakeholders.
- Must have strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, and analytical skills.
- Solid understanding of qualitative, quantitative, and advanced analytic research methodologies and suppliers (including new approaches).
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree
The base pay range for this position in New York City is $200,000 and $265,000/year; however base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short and/or long-term incentives as part of total compensation.
