Director of Business Services(August 1, 2023)The Yarmouth School Department seeks dynamic and qualified candidates for its Director of Business Services. The Director of Business Services is responsible for the administration of finance, human resources, and operations functions for a 1700-student school district located 15 minutes north of Portland on the beautiful coast of Maine.The Director of Business Services works with the Superintendent and School Committee to develop and monitor a $35 million operating budget, and directs the departments accounting functions, such as payroll and accounts payable. The Director also oversees School Departments operational functions including food services, transportation, and maintenance. The Director of Business Services is a member of a district leadership team that also includes the superintendent, four school principals, three assistant principals, the directors of instructional support, teaching and learning, nutrition, facilities, transportation, athletics, and technology, who work collaboratively to promote continuous improvement across the district.Desired QualificationsWe invite your application if you are a collaborative professional with an unwavering commitment to support policies and practices that empower all students to attain success.The preferred candidate will have: 5+ years of experience in financial management, human resources, and operations; preferably including overseeing facilities, capital projects, transportation, and school food services;enthusiasm for Yarmouth School Departments mission, vision, and core values;the ability to facilitate collaborative problem solving;strong human relations skills and human resources, payroll, and negotiations experience;knowledge about developing and monitoring budgets for local, federal, and state funds;effective written and verbal communication skills;knowledge of federal and state regulations;a minimum of a bachelors degree in accounting, business, school administration, or comparable, with preference given for an advanced degree;deep understanding of accounting principles;excellent technology skills, including Microsoft Excel (knowledge of Munis software is preferred);prior experience as a school finance officer.Interested candidates must submit one complete packet of information, which includes the following: completed applicationletter of interestcurrent resumecomplete transcriptsthree letters of reference.Only on-line applications directed to Dr.
