Job Description – Business Developer

We are looking for a Federal Business Development/Capture Manager to generate new business and manage all aspects of the capture lifecycle. You must have a proven track record of helping small businesses win government contracts.

You will work closely with the sales manager and owner to develop sales plans, goals, and strategies.

In your role, you will be responsible for:

• Researching, identifying, and assessing opportunities utilizing tools such as FPDS, USA

Spending, BetaSAM, GovWin, agency forecasts, etc.

• Overseeing all efforts associated with responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs), Requests For

Information (RFIs), Sources Sought, etc.

• Cold calling on Contracting Officers developing relations and learning about the agency.
• Developing pricing strategies to ensure we're competitive.
• Attending conferences, association meetings, and other networking events, serving as the face of the company.
• Using your knowledge, experience, relationships, and other resources to identify potential opportunities as early as possible in the sales cycle.
• Performing research on competitors, industry trends, pricing, etc.
• Developing and maintaining our library of marketing/sales and proposal materials such as past performance records, document templates, certifications, etc.

We are expecting you to:

• Own all things related to business development and capture (i.e., the buck stops with you).

• Continuously educate yourself and be the smartest person in the room in your area of expertise.
• Be a logical yet creative problem-solver; think outside the box.
• Design and implement systems and standards to ensure processes are performed uniformly, efficiently, and effectively across the organization.
• Focus more on tasks that require relationship building, cognition, or professional expertise and less on those that are mundane, delegating the latter to others.
• Manage, mentor, and train other staff that may support you with your activities.
• Make a difference and openly share ideas and thoughts on ways to improve and do things better.
• Assist in the implementation processes when a contract is awarded.

Salary

Base: 75,000 with an unlimited commission structure. (Commission structure is still in the works)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years of experience in federal government capture or business development
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Must have solid understanding of federal procurement process
• Extensive knowledge of federal procurement databases
• Analytical and critical thinking skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
