ABOUT GUIDEBOOK:

Guidebook is a simple yet powerful mobile application builder that lets you create an app in four easy steps with no technical skills required.

Thousands of organizations use Guidebook to create mobile applications for their conference, corporate meeting, university campus, or other custom event—but it doesn’t stop there. Our mission is to connect people with the places in which they spend their time. Forward-thinking professionals are using Guidebook’s simple app builder to make interactive mobile guides for their student orientations, college campus tours, venues and corporate campuses, airports, and any other place where there’s a lot going on.

Here at Guidebook we know the future is mobile — come join us on our mission!

ABOUT THE JOB:

You will have the freedom to be creative with one super-important goal: creating sales opportunities. Every opportunity you create that turns into a prospect or potential client will be a huge win, celebrated by our sales and marketing teams. You will have the ability to serve as the first point of contact for new potential customers looking to digitize their business with the use of our mobile platform. You are a detective, on the lookout for people who will benefit from our technology. You are the heartbeat of the team — the pace at which you work determines the pace of our entire business. You will be responsible for and compensated on:

  • The number of inbound and outbound opportunities you generate
  • The dollar amount of new sales that are close because of accounts you bring in

As a sales/business development representative, you will be leveraging insights to assist with solving real problems customers are having and will be in charge of moving leads through to the sales pipeline. This role will be primarily inbound with some focused outbound work.

HOW YOU’LL WORK WITH MARKETING:

  • Find qualified sales targets and get them interested enough in the possibility of creating a mobile app to agree to meet with our sales team.

  • Reach out to inbound leads who are interested in speaking with our sales team to set up opportunities and follow-up with marketing-supported content and resources.

  • Create inbound and outbound email sequences with the support of the marketing team, and influence the type of collateral that is created and the messaging that is used

  • Be an effective and diligent reporter. Your opportunities, leads, and any other pertinent information are well-documented and tracked. Your feedback will influence marketing campaigns, help us refine our paid search and SEO strategies, and guide the type of content that is created.

  • Influence marketing and sales dashboards

  • Team up with relevant marketing members to influence our sales and marketing tools and resources, such as our live chat bot, automated emails, and email tools to help improve efficiency, reporting, and marketing/sales processes.

  • Collaborate with the team to identify promising events (trade shows, conferences, etc.) for leads.

HOW YOU’LL WORK WITH SALES:

  • Travel to trade shows and conferences with sales team members to represent Guidebook and meet prospective customers face-to-face. This will be a great opportunity for you to help influence the marketing and sales process for trade shows, as well as guide the type of events we attend and the type content and campaigns we create!

  • In collaboration with the sales team, identify and implement process improvements to improve and scale the sales pipeline.

  • Help identify our ICP (ideal customer profile) based on the conversations you have with qualified leads and the opportunities you pass along to our sales team. Together, you will analyze the types of leads that are converting into sales-qualified and closed opportunities and help the marketing team with creating collateral for the sales team’s future pitches.

  • You will be the first point of contact for most inbound and outbound leads. Notify the rest of the team on any changes or trends in the market you are hearing so we can strategize on improvements or new targeted campaigns.

  • Work with sales on targeted outbound campaigns and look in creative places for new leads, devise effective ways to capture their attention, and consult with them to determine whether it makes sense for them to consider Guidebook’s solutions.

  • Help our account managers grow their existing accounts with targeted outbound campaigns

OTHER CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Has previous experience as an inbound or outbound sales representative

  • Customer-facing experience in a professional setting with a passion for solving business challenges.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Coachable, genuine curiosity about learning new things and the ability to pick up new skills quickly.

  • Growth mindset - Use data to make backed decisions on how to expand the pipeline and bring in new leads

  • Able to challenge people’s perspectives and create a compelling story for customers to rally around - great research skills and the ability to pick things up quickly are key!

  • Resilience and grit - you’re prepared to go the extra mile when necessary (though Guidebook promotes a healthy work/life balance!).

  • Handles rejection well and motivated to keep calling new prospects

  • You are a team player. Everyone needs to pull for each other, challenge each other, share best practices, and take on team projects to make the entire organization better.

  • Bonus points if you have experience using Salesforce or Outreach

PERKS:

  • Full health benefits: medical, dental, and vision covered by the employer
  • Unlimited vacation time
  • 401k program with matching benefit
  • Stock options
  • Awesome virtual hangouts
  • Make your workstation yours: we provide you with supplies to have an incredible work from home setup
  • Fun group/team outings (if you're in the Raleigh area)

A reasonable estimate of the current annual salary range for this role is $40,000 to $50,000, with an additional $5,000 to $10,000 in commissions.
