Southworth Products, located in Falmouth, Maine, has an immediate opening for a full-time Key Account Manager.

Southworth is the world’s largest manufacturer of ergonomic material handling equipment for vertical lifting and work positioning. This exciting opportunity will take on the responsibility to lead, develop and manage relationship and business development to the appointed Key Accounts (defined primarily as End Users and Integrators in the logistics and commerce space, along with select OEM’s), striving to obtain long-term and profitable sales with these accounts. The objective is to meet and to exceed our customers’ expectations on value for money for Southworth products, service and expertise. The related sales process is based on principles for value-based selling that generates value for customers and benefit to Southworth.

The Key Account Manager is a strategic thinker who targets customer impact in driving growth and uses this competence for analyzing business needs and develop appropriate strategies and models for successful Sales development within Southworth.

Encourages and supports intra-company cooperation on all levels and manages actively the decision process in critical customer situations.

What you will do:

  • Provide defined Key Accounts with commercial offers and technical expertise. Initiate and improve relations via customer interactions, with special emphasis on customer visits. Exploit all opportunities within defined Key Accounts. Drive CRM utilization with focus on Key account business.
  • Proactively participate in and promote knowledge sharing across the Southworth organization.
  • Provide customer feedback and information to the company, that contributes to the development of the company (e.g. business opportunities, legislations, competition, product development)
  • Communicate opportunities, projects and customer developments within the global key account organization.
  • Duties include to explore and develop the market in the area of responsibility, presenting the Key Accounts on regular business reviews and supports and executes strategic intents. Recognize and communicate potential developments and threats (competition, regulations etc.).
  • Perform other tasks, duties and responsibilities as required by the immediate manager.
  • Coordinate with Strategic Key Account Manager as needed.

What our ideal candidate brings to the table:

  • University degree in Business Management, MSc or equivalent
  • Should have a minimum of 10 years progressive experience within Strategic Sales and an experienced negotiator. Said differently, it is important to demonstrate ability to penetrate deeply within a given account.
  • At minimum 5 years of experience from account management in an international environment
  • Experience of business development and change management with documented good results
  • Entrepreneurial mindset that focuses on customer impact
  • Coaching, advising approach to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to create and maintain good relationships both internally and externally, while driving change
  • High level of business orientation and a diplomatic approach.
