Job Description

Job Summary:
The Senior Sales Account Manager is instrumental in Teledyne FLIR’s company growth. This position reports to the US Government Sales Director, Unmanned Systems and Integrated Solutions (UIS). The Senior Sales Account Manager is responsible for overall customer relations for assigned accounts. The candidate shall bring initiatives from PowerPoint and live demonstration level to actual business and sustainable revenues and customer satisfaction, while maintaining positive business relationships to ensure future sales.
The position requires the ability to fulfill these duties and responsibilities:
  • Serve as our lead Sales Account Manager and achieve product sales in the domestic Public Safety, US Federal, and non-DoD Market
  • Support Tradeshows, demonstrations, and other public-facing events as scheduled
  • Achieve competency to successfully demonstrate key UIS technologies to customers
  • Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
  • Analyze the customer’s market potential, funding, and equipment needs in order to prioritize efforts
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Reach out to customer leads through calling and in office visits
  • Follow up with customers on existing and potential opportunities
  • Achieve sales targets within schedule
  • Create quotes in CRM
  • Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other Teledyne organizations
  • Provide management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and manage customers questions, concerns, inquiries, offers, orders and overall timely responses.
  • Assist with developing the Business Development and Sales Strategy for the non-DoD US Government
  • Provide input to product development plans and initiatives
  • Provide pricing input to management for existing and new products
  • Excellent communication skills, including being part of a larger team and organizing support for own tasks and initiatives as well as supporting peers in their tasks and initiatives.
  • Conduct CONUS and occasional OCONUS travel as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors' degree and 5 years of technical sales experience and proven track record of closing deals
  • Experience with Federal law enforcement, former government acquisition official, or unmanned system experience
  • Existing relationships with key customer segments
  • Strong leadership ability with advanced communication and presentation skills
  • Understand business and marketplace activities, behavioral norms and competitive pressures
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Familiarity with CRM practices
  • Ability to build productive professional business relationships
  • Available to travel ~50% time
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
  • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
  • Strategic and sales planning, with organizational planning and leadership experience
  • Good understanding of how to navigate within a large organization
  • Customer Focused
Other desirable experience:
  • sUAS experience, Part 107 certified or ability to get Part 107 certified and work experience in public safety
  • Proven ability to influence large program capture
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Experience with the RFP/Government capture process
  • SECRET security clearance or higher
  • Veteran status considered a strong asset
